You’d get charged with terrorism now. Might as well go full Luigi.
Without exaggeration, doing this now (depending on the person) would risk life imprisonment for bioweaponry terrorism, or just getting shot
Yeah, pretty much. A large part of what made the face-pie so effective was simply the “we can still touch you” reminder. It’s a powerful message, because it reminds them that their bodyguards only need to fail once. It’s the old “you need to protect yourself every time, we only need to touch you once” thing. Which is why they’ve captured the courts and police, to deter attacks even when they aren’t under constant protection.
I remember a few years ago, there was a big to-do about people throwing paint on their yachts lol. Even that was enough to scare them.
If they want to charge people with bioterrorism over pies, then the pie throwers might start throwing brick pies given they will face similar charges.
I think the natural conclusion is if you’re going to charge someone with bioterrorism for throwing a pie on you then they might just throw acid on you instead, as both lead to the same outcome.
Because we stopped doing shit like this and gave in to bullshit civility politics. That shit only benefits the fascists.
Because we stopped doing shit like this
Did we? Or was this always a rare and remarkable incident, both in that it happened at all and it was captured and preserved for us to talk about today.
Certainly, you can talk about the no less than three different Trump assassination attempts. Or the Luigi Mangione shooting. Or the fatal stabbing of Bob Lee, CPO of Cashapp. Or the assault of Bryan Kobel, CEO of TC BioPharm, after a dispute with his Uber driver. Or the vigilante attack on Paul Pelosi. Or the Doohickey assassination of Shinzo Abe. Or the Charlie Kirk assassination. Or just run the numbers annually for violence targeting C-level officials
This study analyzes 424 open source reported incidents targeting senior private-sector executives between 2003 and late 2025, highlighting a sustained and accelerating rise in both physical and cyber threats. Physical attacks dominate (85%), and one-third of all incidents resulted in injury or death. Incident frequency has surged since 2023, with 2025 already doubling 2024 totals by October, marking the highest level on record. Targeting increasingly occurs at workplaces and residences, with protest-driven activity driving growth at public events.
But I’m not seeing any evidence to suggest we “stopped” doing any of this. On the contrary, it looks like we’ve got a rising tide of stochastic violence, both from within the state itself and against state and private leadership.
Great research and insight thank you
Without exaggeration, doing it back then risked much the same.
These were brave acts then. They’d be brave acts now.
Easily get shot these days. Most of the big names are surrounded by exSF who are carrying far more firepower in their briefcases than any one of us can ever purchase.
Most of the time they are even carrying firearms that are illegal or never properly gone through NFA. A few rappers and their bodyguard occasionally get a weapons charge but you never see Musks or Fuckerberg get in trouble.
Funny story, here in Sweden, our speaker of the parliament was visiting a school to speak. Someone threw a “banana or part of a banana”. Bodyguards “aprehended” the boy until police arrived and the boy was interrogated at the police station.
The speaker then started a criminal suit against the boy (who was 16) with the charge of disorderly conduct. The damage was noted as, “a stained shirt”.
According to the speaker, incidents like this could cause politicians to not want to speak at schools (oh no… how will the children cope?)
Anyway, people are calling him out as the clown he is. And i’d be very surprised if he gets to keep his post after our election (regardless of who wins)
Wait, whoa stop. Politicians are held to account in your country?! What sort of magical utopia is this?
Eh, only if they want to, I am still pissed off that Maud Olofsson got away with the Noun affair and even got to decline attending a government review board about the affair.
That kinda sounds like Björn Söder…
Pies are nice and all; but have you considered a dildo to the face?
It has a certain style after all.
I love the Wikipedia pedantry in correcting that it wasn’t technically a dildo.
Indeed, just a rubber flesh toned phallus. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Only in New Zealand: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waitangi_dildo_incident

Was interested. It was a banana milkshake. That must have been sticky.
What a great person that woman is.
I hope that girl gets free drinks in whichever pub she sets foot in.
Glorious 🤌
We used to throw pies, now we just throw shade
You do something like that today they’ll try to put you away for 30 years on terrorism charges.
Someone chucked a milkshake at Nigel Farage a couple of years ago and got a 13-week suspended jail sentence for assault. Along with endless pearl-clutching from the right and Farage talking about how distressed he was.
Which is funny when you compared it to back in the 90s when someone threw an egg at John Prescott and he immediately punched them in the face lol.
A suspended sentence is just the ultimate slap on the wrist tho.
It’s basically saying “Yeah you did a bad thing, just stay out of trouble for a few months and we’ll call it even, k?”
The cake thrower of Microsoft boss recently passed away. He had a great career, RIP
Remind me please, the cake at Bill’s face, did it change anything? How about “the cake” from Luigi Mangione, did this one change anything?
The first act of political violence in Australia was when PM Billy Hughes was struck by an egg that was thrown at him during a speech in favor of conscription.
The second act of political violence in Australia was when PM Hughes jumped into the crowd to throw hands with the egg-thrower.
You Aussies sure are a contentious people
(with my full respect)
Haha, fuck yeah, but also nah, it’s all a bit of biff mate, better to throw hands than lock up a bastard. Unfortunately the leaders do both.
“YOU JUST MADE AN ENEMY FOR LIFE!”
But I brought beer? It’s cold as well.
For those that need info, sadly, it left out the part where he jumped into the crowd, I wanted to know if he was a badass or got his ass stomped.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Hughes_egg-throwing_incident

TL;DR Billy is a salty sausage
And in the Epstein Files.
Man, I bet he really had egg on his face after that incident.
A local politicial got egged recently and when i saw someone about it he claimed it was a violent assault lol
Fitting, because pies in the face is the territory of clowns. 🤡
Some of us Americans think this is what the second amendment is for
I prefer bringing a guillotine to the meeting, like what happened in Salem during a council meeting with a data center CEO. Or Luigi style pie throwing, with bullets.
Lead pies
If we’re going back to when we actually put ourselves at risk to fight back against our overlords, I’d rather we go all the way back to when we’d burn their houses down - often with them inside - instead.
