I think my mom still uses the last CRT TV that I had. Gave it to her when I bought my first 720p HD TV, as the old CRT was better than her old TV. Later on I also gave her that HD TV but she still has the CRT too.

They were all ancient ladies with curly grandma-fro hairdos at ours
In a non-Tesla car I’ve driven, there was an autopilot cruise control mode that just used cameras. In practice it only works out well if you’re driving long distance on a highway with low traffic. It’s still nice to have (much better than having no autopilot cruise mode) but I don’t trust it around multiple lanes of other cars doing unpredictable shit. Also quits working in the rain when the cameras are obscured.
Yeah a commentary video with a creator of a movie or show is real content related to the other content, not the same as a random person’s “look at me” video
It went from “don’t post pictures of yourself or your real name online because you might get strangers’ attention” to everyone trying to be their own version of a Max Headroom talking head to try to get the attention of all the strangers. Selfies, video selfies, talking head videos, reaction videos… all garbage.
It’s fuckin’ 12:32 man! You gotta get on the ball right now!
Well I hope you use cash for all purchases and wear a mask that covers your face, otherwise everything you bought is recorded along with your identity in the store systems and potentially sold to 3rd parties like advertising companies, maybe to your health insurance company too.
I only prefer self checkout when I’m buying rubbers and lube. Anything else I’d rather have the checkout person scan and bag for me.
If you have social anxiety, the checkout person conversation is one of the easiest interactions for you to practice those skills on. “Hello, here are my items, thank you” is about the gist of what’s necessary.
I did it one time with a pelvis area harness instead of the feet-hanger shit so I didn’t go upside down. It was like a carnival bungee jump thing that was about 80 feet high, cost $25 to do. It was scary as shit for the moment of falling but once the bouncing started it was pretty dang fun.
I don’t want the law changed where I live, because these cameras are prohibited!
Several states in the USA prohibit speed cameras and traffic light cameras, because a citizen must be able to face their accuser when accused of a crime. This is a great example of freedom in the USA, where we do not let machines automatically issue fines against human beings.
My experience has been that they last for more years than I tend to notice which ones are which. I’m not mad at all about their longevity.
I had 2 LED bulbs that I know for sure that I bought prior to 2015 that only recently failed. Those bulbs lasted at least 9-10 years. The rest of my bulbs I haven’t kept up with but those 2 older ones looked very distinctive with aluminum heatsink material for their bottom halves.
Cool, I didn’t know you could do that
I think the bomb threats in Ohio after the dumbass pet eating lies were spread is a preview.
Trumptards already saw their insurrection didn’t work and that prison is the consequence. Trump admitted that he lost the 2020 election and many of those cultists are mad about it. So I don’t think we will have a repeat of the Capitol attack, instead we may have some assorted terrorist threats and attacks. Hopefully if that does happen, it will further drive them into obscurity because normal people tend to not like terrorism.
Rudo’s tool sounds cool.
I’ve done those conversions by hand before, just deleting irrelevant Google junk out of the KML file to import it to OsmAnd~ because I planned my route on the desktop Google Earth app (3D is cool) and exported it to KML. After some edits it usually will import to OsmAnd on the phone
I didn’t have to pay for it, installed from F-Droid, and I can download any map I’ve tried so far. When I’m traveling I like to pre-download the standard map for the whole state if it’s one I don’t already have installed. It’s nice to not have to worry about data / reception.
Overall OsmAnd is a pretty good GPS-map-navigation app, but has several annoyances and bugs. Still better than using Google’s app to me. I need to check out Organic maps too
I think one of his worst pieces of advice is to pay off debts before saving for an emergency fund (if I remember correctly)
Saving some kind of emergency fund first is more important than not having any debts. Having money on hand is worldly power in your hand basically. If you’re debt free but broke, then you can’t deal with an emergency that requires money.
Here’s a website about those kinds of fake shows
I’m in the USA and I get 3 weeks paid vacation, 10 paid holidays, and 2 “personal days” which are also PTO, and more sick time than I am ever able to use up. I think I have over 200 hours of sick leave PTO accrued.
This is not a basic entry-level job though, it’s after climbing the career ladder for years. It would be much nicer for our country’s folks if everyone was allowed as much PTO by all jobs.
Maybe what they are trying to say is that most everyday folks don’t use those terms in any normal conversation. I’ve never used those terms myself and haven’t heard them in any conversation I can recall outside of the Internet.
