It really is pretty good after all! I didn’t really know what to expect going in, but this is a show I kinda wish was around when I was younger.

It’s pretty good at speaking to introverted kids trying to find their place in the world in those awkward years, I think, without some cheesy, simple, “Surprise, you’re the chosen one!” sort of approach. This is all the more impressive given that they do have that protagonist is ridiculously powerful but doesn’t know how to channel it character trait going on here.

I can see now why it became so popular, even aside from it following the success of One-Punch Man.

Mob was made as a mirror to Saitama. Both share the burden of talent, but the difference is that Saitama wants to be challenged at the thing he’s the best at, while mob wants to be challenged at what he’s weakest at, to become a well rounded person.

Mob is such a great character and inspiration - I feel like we’ve only just scratched the surface of his development.

Idk about the mangas but it’s definitely my favorite anime between these two (and I love one punch man so that says something)

That’s what I was going for, which is on me for not clarifying. My bad! I haven’t read the One Punch Man manga, so it would be unfair for me to compare them in that medium.

I was also skeptical! But I’m super glad I got around to watching it. Mob has very human problems even tho he’s bigger than life, and he loves and respects his friends!

Right? Also here’s how little I knew of it going in: I only knew the name of it and thought it might be an edgy show about some yakuza or something that was constantly going all out 😂

I haven’t watched S3 yet because my partner finds the VA change too jarring, but the first 2 seasons were quite enjoyable.

S3 has some of the best animation of the series and is among the best work that studio bones has produced in recent times imo, if that means anything to you.

S03 left the most memorable impression on me, I’d recommend powering through ;)

I loved the third season, it ended up in my “favourites” so to speak. Which doesn’t happen too often, after you’ve already seen most critically acclaimed anime titles.

IMO each season is progressively better than the previous one. And the first one was already great. The third season also concludes the story.

No matter how old I get I still love watching Mob Psycho. When they released S3 I decided to rewatch S1 and S2 and it made me appreciate this show even more. Especially S2. Music, art, animations, character development, everything is just soo good. I’m still getting goosebumps while watching some fight scenes.

I can’t believe I dropped it. But thankfully a really good friend recommended it so strongly I wanted to go back and give it a chance, despite the art style that at first was off putting. Ended up being one of my top five shows ever. Glad you liked it!

I blame this for the stagnation of One punch man (i know it’s probably not true). But since the debuted of Mob psycho, the release of one punch man just keep slowing down and now it seems like it’s abandoned.
