Where I am from, ordering a medium gets you a sideways glance, and anything above that gets you bodily tossed out of any self-respecting household or establishment.
Seems like a lot of people are ill informed, medium is the minimum at which the fat inside a lot of cuts will render properly.

Great, now I’m all hungry for steak.
To be fair, I know at least one person (my dad) who eats steak well done because his stomach gets upset for anything other. So he has a legitimate reason. Personally, AI is my go-to to to salvage well steak. It doesn’t fix the steak obviously, but at least now I won’t throw it out and can eat it.
