How to self-host/become your own ISP
It’s erased several tech jobs and replaced some helpforum commentors with bots to pretend their communities are alive and when you read their comments or ‘suggestions’ you can clearly tell, this isn’t someone trying to help it’s just a bot posting garbage pretending to help

I see the upvote and downvote count as an overall room temperature/vibe check.
Whenever votes are good everything’s chill, otherwise if approaching <50% happiness then I recheck/reflect and look for where I could’ve done better.
You can’t please everyone however most can still avoid making fools out of themselves by trying to learn and improve from past mistakes.

Thank you for your LVM on LUKS suggestion!
I was able to get it to work with GRUB and now it works in the same way as systemd where only 1 password input is required🤗
What I found to work is creating 3 partitions:
after encrypting and creating the required volumes on p2,
Now that the base system is done I’m working on a Detached LUKS USB system to further optimize for security after in which I’d be satisfied in knowing that if others use it they’ll most likely be safe from most security hazards
I’ve avoided RT thus far because it was incompatible with KVM/QEMU. Am curious if this is still the case.
I didn’t even realize that this was a known problem.
Guess I can compile and install on my workstation and see if my virtual machines still work.
I’d appreciate it if you could also let me know how it goes! I’m hoping that it just_works.™️ on your end🫡
Ah thank you! I didn’t realize it was made by Dan. In that case Loops is probably a safer bet than the current alternatives👍
Loops hasn’t yet released its source code or enabled federation, but project lead Dan Supernault has stated that he will do both in the near future.
Buying into promises is a gamble dependant on the crediblity and trustworthiness of the person/entity making them
uwu thank you~🤗💖
Oh yeah?
Ah thank you for pointing out the video!🤗, I read the article and assumed the other links were just twitter posts
ahh yeah I agree I can see how that would complicate things.
Although if I were in the situation of dealing with the company’s mail and I saw that it was addressed to both the company and a specific recipient I’d probably ask the recipient to open and confirm the contents first to avoid any legal and ethical issues
uhhh… I’m not a lawyer but I do know that opening someone’s private mail is a crime (in Canada) and after searching it up I already found 2 sources (after a 2 second search) so far that also states the same in the US
https://businessanywhere.io/is-it-illegal-to-open-someone-elses-mail/
https://thelawdictionary.org/article/what-is-the-federal-law-for-opening-mail-not-addressed-to-you/
The fact that the contents of the mail were also pilfered and redistributed without the knowledge and/or consent of the recipient might mean that Crunchyroll/the user in question might have committed a felony crime
Reporting typically works best👍
Huh in that case I wonder if both instance and defederation works by sort of pausing/suspending the new content updates.
Sort of like how Newpipe works is that new content could be available on your home/sub feed but won’t show up unless explicitly updated (by swiping down). Although for this analogy to work, banning would be equivalent to a filter/block in Voyager although it’ll only work for newer content?🤔
That’s my new guess anyways, not sure if it’ll help!😅🤗
I did get that, I just don’t understand as to why that’s happening; maybe a federation error?
