Roku devices (including the Roku TV models from various manufacturers) have a Night audio mode.

Samsung TVs have an Adaptive Sound mode that does similar. And Samsung soundbars have a Night mode in the SmartThings app.

Sony calls it Night Mode or Night Sound depending on the product.

Google TV also calls it Night Mode.

Hisense calls it Night Mode or Late Night.

Vizio calls it Night Mode

LG calls it Night Time.

Apple TV calls it Reduce Loud Sounds.

I’d say that covers “most”.

Most modern TVs have a Night audio mode that will compress audio to a smaller spectrum, basically for this exact reason.

Oh most definitely not just software development.

They won’t bother rekeying, but they normally are buying enough that different sets are inevitable even if they don’t actively try.

New locks usually tell you what key set they are on the package… So you can buy multiple of the same lock to rekey an entire house.

While the locks can be rekeyed to thousands of options, the prepackaged options will only be a few sets.

It just needs to be the way Android works from that point forward, not something optional. If they want to have an Android phone, with the play store, and everything that comes with the ecosystem, that’s what they have to do. Manufacturers never want to change what they do.

Android needs to modularize itself more and separate the core OS from manufacturer changes, carrier changes, etc.

Oh they want to… There are quite a few chip fabs around the world… there are very few that can manufacture at this size, along the bleeding edge of the numerous technologies necessary to do so.

Having the knowledge required to build the fab, the actual hardware required to manufacture them, and the skilled personnel to operate it all are hard to do. This is not something that you can toss together in a cave from scraps like Iron Man.

And a lot of that is by design with companies and governments trying to guarantee sovereignty by tightly controlling where these can be manufactured. The idea that enemies are less likely to try to take over/colonize a smaller country (like Taiwan) if the global chip manufacturing apparatus can be destroyed in minutes to prevent it from falling into enemy hands.

20+ years in various customer facing roles has shown me that customers rarely know what they’re talking about. And they are not capable of reading either. The size of any sign is inversely proportional to their ability to even notice it exists.

Don’t forget adding additional surface area for security vulnerabilities. Does the off switch prevent a zero day attack via that code? Of course not.

You should look into where the Nazi rocket scientists went after WW2 and how few of them saw any form of punishment for their involvement.
