Yeah my wife has MS and I worry when shes late that she is having trouble. And I go hiking in the bush so its good if she has my approximate location
We switched to Fairphones running e/OS so we have pretty solid control of that. Im looking forward to postmarketOS being a bit more stable.
My take is that the fediverse is wholesome. Today’s news isn’t but that is our current reality and the topics on a social network will always cover current events.
But when you really pay attention to the people here, they are wholesome. And if what you see is a lot of terrible people in your feed, start watching the instances they are coming from. Frequently the difference between a good and bad experience here is how well you curate your feed and how well your instance is moderated.
Why you gotta do Yaphit like that?
I never thought I would have a healthy relationship with ASD+ADHD. I found someone who is my equal and we have an extremely fulfilling relationship that’s full of both amazing fun moments and frustrating ones, but we always understand each other. Which helps with our son as well, as he’s a carbon copy of us.
Starting projects.
I’ll update when I’m gold at finishing them.

Try the Droidify app. I find it better than the main FDroid app.

Looks like it was a combo of both, reading about it further. https://www.rd.com/article/americans-british-pronounce-zee/
Regional dialects at first, but then the dictionary declared it the official pronunciation and shortly after the song was produced, which would have spread the use from being regional and encouraged homogenization
whistles X-files tune
Americans used to pronounce Z the same as the rest of the world until someone wrote the ABC song and decided it needed to rhyme with V, and then an entire generation grew up saying it wrong and it stuck. At least that is what I’ve heard in Canada.
It’s also why there is a Canadian version of Sesame street where the last verse doesnt rhyme because up until the late 90s our TV censors used to straight up nope things that would cause kids to be confused about how things should be pronounced.
Pan fried shawarma is something Im still trying to get used to. The Lebanese Shawarma places in Ottawa all stack the chicken on a stick rotisserie and it is cooked exactly like the lamb or beef kebabs, they then slice thin portions off of it just the same.
It wasnt until I moved out west that I ever saw Shawarma done any other way, and everything out here has been disappointing by comparison.
…and yet people not only believe this crap but try to pass it off as science.
What country are you in? None of those options exist in Canada so I think you’re going to need to reframe your point.
Also I can state that giftcards do not exist where I live as I just went though 4 kids birthdays and check 20 different stores and winded up having to give up on Steam cards and buy prepaid Visas.
EDIT: To clarify, two years ago the cards existed. Last year they were scarce, and in 2025 they are no where to be found.
What are those other options you have anyway? I’ve never seen or heard of any of them.
