The real estate cartel, the landlords themselves are stopping this. If housing is treated as a human right, their profit evaporates, so they’ll never willingly let that happen. They intentionally make zoning harder, kill government initiatives to make housing cheaper, etc.

It’s like asking a dictator to install democracy. Nothing short of a leftist takeover of the DNC, coupled with large scale local level cooperation, tenant unions, etc will solve this.

Nobody tell this dude about co-ops, market rate housing, non profits, etc.

You don’t have to rent from a landlord, you should have the ability to rent from a nonprofit, a co-op, etc. Housing is a human right and should never be about profit.

Not everybody does. I’ve seen some threads, mostly on insta, where people were fallomg over themselves to get on their fucking knees to slob on Elon’s nob. I get that the average insta user isn’t the brightest, but people like that do exist.

And it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, because there is a chance that the hard work of the engineers, laborers, and Shotwell will be used for Elon’s fame throughout history.

You seem confused. The point of it isn’t to give a fully accurate explanation of a person’s views on every topic. It’s to give somebody a general idea.

Plus, someone can say they are for something, but actually not support it in reality.

All political measurements fall victim to that. It’s a moot point. But just because some people are like that doesn’t mean everyone is.
