43·3 months agoI grew up starting my computer use having to navigate DOS just before windows 3.11 was released. I work in tech today and I feel like just knowing about a lot of the automated things we take for granted today has given me a little bit of an edge.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is there gospel music minus the gospel?
12·3 months agoGospel can vary widely in sound. What you’re basically looking for is soul, RnB, funk and maybe jazz fusion. Probably artists that combine elements of those things.

41·3 months agoI use TOR because over on Reddit I got unjustly permabanned. It works great! I rarely use reddit but there just happens to be one community that has some helpful information that I’ll likely need to follow for the next few months. So TOR has been great for that!

Technology@lemmy.world•Oncoliruses: LLM Viruses are the future and will be a pest, say good bye to decent tech.English
41·3 months agoAgreed but being disconnected makes the impact of a lot of the viruses that might be generated with LLMs not worthwhile because of its isolation. Of course, you also lose all the benefits of being connected. All hypotheticals. :)

62·3 months agoHow ironic would it be that AI ruins the internet and we all go back to disconnected machines with physical/local storage media? Eg. Installing programs from trusted companies off of a CD or USB drive.

My dad once had trouble with Internet explorer crashing a computer in an auto shop he was working in.
I installed chrome which worked much better but he would not stop trying to open the Internet explorer icon.
Changed the chrome icon to IE icon. Problem solved. Lol
