I’m aware of that. I am not sure why you told me to watch that video when I was trying to figure out why they chose folinic acid supplements specifically. Because folic acid and folinic acid can really make people with MTHFR deficiency sick, and for some it also worsens their autism symptoms.

I think this is based on poor understanding of genetics. A lot of neurodivergent people have mutations in a gene (MTHFR) that deals with processing folate, but that doesn’t mean they have reduced folate by itself. But, taking folic acid if you have decreased ability to process it can actually cause health problems. He’s famous for creating a conservative organization while in college, called Turning Point USA. The org puts out a lot of smug memes to appeal to young conservative folks, so naturally people made fun of them and counter-memed.

He’s said a lot of very vile things, like “Black women don’t have the same kind of brain processing power” (paraphrased) when talking about how bad DEI is.

My BFF hadn’t heard of him either, but they curate their feeds to be mostly uplifting fluff, and they aren’t terminally online like I am lol. I was kind of surprised that he was the influencer that got shot though, I might have expected someone like Loomer or Fuentes

I’m not here to downplay those problems in China. They are serious. But, that’s not the government saying they don’t care about children, it’s saying that they have their own racist and bigoted political problems.

And, if you’ve paid any attention, the US is doing really similar things and has been for a long time. We made some progress with the Civil rights movement, but we still have Black people arrested at 2x the rate of white, 37% of the prison pop is Black while they only represent 13% of the general pop. The education system has all but erased the cultural roots of Black Americans, and God forbid a Black teen uses slang to communicate. Most of the sectioning off of voting areas in the US is to minimize their and other minority’s voting power. For now it’s still legal to say “Hey this influencer really made life bad for me, and I’m okay with him being dead”, but it may not remain legal for long. EPA regulations are being dissolved, but the biggest problems will affect traditionally/forced Black neighborhoods.

Where are you getting the idea that the government in China doesn’t care about their children?

Hey man, you’re the one that brought up rules. But while we’re talking about international rules, gene editing of embryos and their descendants is legal in the US if it’s privately funded. And it’s not illegal internationally to do so

Also, I’d be less worried about CRISPR specifically for this use, because it’s not always accurate, is limited in what it can actually do, and there are better gene editing tools now

Okay I actually looked into it and it seems senior horses need much more than 3500calories per pound of gained weight, and you’re looking at roughly 55 days before winter truly sets in (in my area and ignoring snow days/weeks). So she’d need just under 5.5pounds/day gained and I don’t think you’ll get there lol.

She’s in good hands though! She’ll definitely survive this winter with you keeping an eye over her :)

The best hugging pillow I ever had was a ridiculously large plushie, because the fill density was different. I haven’t figured out the head pillow yet, because sometimes as a side sleeper I try to hug those, too. I’ve mostly landed on ignoring the shaped memory foam pillows, because even if it says “for side sleepers” it usually feels better using as a traditional sleeper
