It’s life changing when you start to rtfm.

You had me in the first half, ngl
I’m so glad I quit consoles. Now I’m just rooting for steam to get every game running perfectly in linux so we don’t have to deal with Windows either.
Some of us like linux and want to deal with it…
No, most of this is untrue. Ex Presidents can refuse secret service detail. They are allowed to drive on public roads - that is a secret service rule that they can’t but it’s not against the law and Presidents don’t have to follow those rules. And they are allowed to live outside the US if a host country allows them.
That 11x election cycles with at least one of three last names on the ballot is only a record tie.
We had John Adams x4, George Clinton x2, DeWitt Clinton x1, James Monroe x2, John Quincy Adams x2 also a total of 11x.
Roosevelts were on the ballot 8x election cycles but the gap years screwed them. And they were close to uniting with the Nixon 5x streak also with some gaps. And then after one cycle right into the Bush Sr streak. If things shook out just a bit different there was a 19x streak in the cards.
They definitely do, especially legacy stuff that’s still kicking. Sweet, sweet tech debt that you hope won’t be a real problem until you’ve moved to a different company.
I’ve used word/onenote or FOSS equivalents the same way, they’re fine as a scratchpad for notes. As you said it’s nice being able to shove images in there. There are so many things that don’t belong anywhere else that I will forget after even a half hour break.
Yeah that’s probably it. I haven’t seen Snowpiercer and was mixing the two up.
For some reason I always thought it was an fps that takes place on trains…I’ll check it out now because I like city builders.
type site:lemmy.world
in front of your search if using google. You can combine multiple instances with the OR operator ie site:lemmy.world OR site:programming.dev
this will force google to give you content only from your desired domains but lemmy.world posts will likely trample the other instances for a lot of stuff.
We’re becoming a little centralized (which I personally don’t find to be such a bad thing yet).
A citation with a superscript number reference in a comment? Impressive.
Freakonomics is always solid.
Damn I actually watched this is exact video about three weeks ago…
It’s important to note how we got here. In old English man just meant human. Wereman meant male and wifman meant female. Over time that “were” prefix got dropped and man now means male but the ambiguous meaning of humankind stuck around. In fact “human” comes from old french “of man”, again the non-gendered use of the word man.
The point is to fix all these problems we just have to bring back the “were”. The progressive werewolves are way ahead of us on this issue.
That’s me. Besides the ads/promotion/tracking shit pre-elon Twitter was doing pretty much exactly what I want from it. It was mostly for the parasocial relationships not for keeping up with actual friends. I’d get news and announcements straight from the source quickly and even with a verified checkmark to help ensure I wasn’t getting trolled. Now it’s trash.
Use a butane insert. Still refillable but it’s sealed in well enough to last years of infrequent use.
