Meta just announced that they are trying to integrate Threads with ActivityPub (Mastodon, Lemmy, etc.). We need to defederate them if we want to avoid them pushing their crap into fediverse.

    Then later they’ll wreck havoc on our small servers making them slow and unreliable, making their servers even more interesting for people. And so on.

    And that’s just one way among lots of ways.
