seems like it’s 97% memes or news articles. i love a good shitpost but this site would be even better with in depth nuanced discussion – especially with a higher quality userbase than reddit

    I prefer the opposite because then it’s much more likely to get a response. Something that already has a few hundred or few thousand comments is when I just shitpost snark because it’s not even likely to be seen by anyone other than possibly the OP through getting notifications of replies.

      the lemmy sorting is way better though, it seems like something can be at the top of hot even if posted late in the lifespan of a post
