Arf! I’m Tony Bark. Artist and writer by day. Programmer by night. Gamer all the way.
Most of the reoccurring outlets I cite have an RSS feed that I subscribe to. Research is sourced from Science Daily.
We’re going to entering the find out stage of the USA’s fucking around pretty damn soon.
I hear ya’. Technology (including games) progressed so rapidly that I feel older than I honestly should.
Before the ill-fated Stadia, Harrison helped lead Sony’s gaming efforts during the troubled launch of the PlayStation 3, at one point going so far as to brag that “nobody will ever use 100 percent of [the PS3’s] capability.” He then worked in Microsoft’s gaming division during the disastrous rollout of the Xbox One and its confused used game policies.
Yesh. This guy’s track record is awful.
I can’t be mad at that. xD
They’re throwing billions upon billions into a technology with extremely limited use cases and a novelty, at best. My god, even drones fared better in the long run.
Pretty damn cheap smartwatch.

Which would probably have Jobs rolling in his grave. He was all for web apps. Hell, their first attempt at widgets on macOS were just web apps. That’s why he was so adamant about getting rid of Flash. He knew the technology was viable.
That was me with SimCity 4. xD

Yes, and no. Yes in that they’ve released the research papers, pretrained parameters and weights of the model itself. Which is more than I can say for “OpenAI.” But no in that it doesn’t include training data or other critical components. Luckily, they’ve shown how they did it which makes it easy for anyone else to reverse engineer the process. That’s what Altman is afraid of.
I have the Quest 2 before the rebrand. It was great, loved playing bowling with it, but they really do need move beyond being Daydream on steroids.
