I keep my hands on my laptop and use my thumb on the track pad. My hands don’t leave the keyboard. I actually never use extra mice or extra keyboards.

My professor was always trying to get us to use vim or eMacs over an IDE to write our C programs. I’m sorry, I like using a mouse. I know, I know, blasphemy. I’m taking a shortcut. I’m a noob.
When I absolutely have to, I go for vim, mostly because I know a few of the key bindings for it, but otherwise avoid it.
I would for more niche stuff, but I’m guessing my instance would defederate from it.
Women are better at being friends to each other. I’ve basically given up on trying to make friends with other men because they are terrible friends. At best, they make no effort at all at friendship and are completely passive, requiring you to call and make all the plans. At worst, they are hostile in various ways when you try to befriend them. It is very rare to meet another dude that makes effort to be a friend.
Edit: it’s soooo funny to see this comment being downvoted because it will only perpetuate your loneliness. You deserve it.
I’m one. As a Mac user, I haven’t used windows in years, and avoid it like the plague. But, the limited games support meant I had to rely on consoles to get my gaming fix. With Steam’s strong support for Linux, I decided to build a gaming PC for Linux only. It’s been great. I just wish more publishers would support it — the ones adding kernel-level anti-cheat are ruining things, but I’m hoping if enough people switch to Linux, they won’t be able to ignore us.
If you’re just wondering about time zones — not many advantages: the stock market is already moving at 6am and closes in the early afternoon. If you have east coast family, they’ll text you when you’re asleep in the morning. Then, when you have time to text them at night, they’ll be asleep. Big events like presidential debates and addresses start when you’re just leaving work or commuting, so you tend to miss out on them.
I think the interesting thing about the Barbie movie was its “IP” holder basically acknowledging that a lot of the current generation thinks its product is toxic.
It’s good, prefer lime and pamplemousse
A lot of TnC’s have opt out forced arbitration. I do often read the TnC’s and follow the steps to opt out. It’s often as tedious as possible, like writing a letter, printing, and mailing it. Really depends though on whether it is some service I think I’ll be using often and that could have big negatives from not opting out like my bank account.
Reminds me of freshman year in college… people would sneak into each others rooms and put it up on each other’s computers, trying to see if they could set a record for most spins.
A lot of metal heads I’ve known don’t use drugs or alcohol and some of them are vegans.
Yeah, should tell you it’s unlocked at checkout. Just don’t select a provider. Then, contact yours and ask for instructions to set it up.
Yeah, I’ve done similar. Bought a “all-in-one” tool kit that includes almost every basic tool. While it is nice to have one of everything, you quickly realize that the metal is so soft that some of them only last two or three uses. So, then you replace it with a better one.
I didn’t understand the importance of quality and the true premium you pay for certain things. I often would buy the cheapest thing I could find to serve a certain function. After awhile, you find yourself replacing cheap things because they wear out quickly. Buying quality can mean paying a lot more, but it also usually means you don’t have to replace it much, if at all.
Loved commandos. They’re making a new one. There is a demo out. Probably launched next year.
God parents are supposed to care for the children, if the parents die. I think you shouldn’t overthink it. If you’re willing to fill that role, then raise the kids however you think is best. Accept the role gracefully as it is an honor and your sister is showing she loves and trusts you. Leave it at that.
As atheists, we have to acknowledge that most of the world isn’t yet on our level of thinking, but also that we don’t really have similar “concepts” for religious traditions that serve certain societal needs. God parents do serve a societal function. As an atheist, I can acknowledge that, accept that role, and play the part for those I love.
I read some article about how subway franchise owners HATED $5 footlong because it was making them go broke. You could tell if you went in there by how aggressively they pushed the cookie on you.
Just the sandwich? You don’t want a cookie? Come on buy a cookie! How about a soda?
I haven’t watched regular tv in 15-20 years, with the occasional exception if I’m in a hotel. Mostly just stuck to streaming platforms in the last ten years, however my attention span for those has dwindled and I also just don’t really have the time or mental energy to watch much. I probably watch 1 movie per month, with one or two shows here and there. As a result, I’ve just cancelled almost all of my streaming packages.
