I bought the Beelink SER9 MAX, mainly because it’s the only one I saw with 64GB Ram.

It came with windows, but binned that for debian running Ollama and openclaw pretty well. I looked at others but according to Claude, the A1 Pro that i looked at only really supports Windows and I emailed minisforum who confirmed it so kinda went off there PC’s.

I’m not aiming for speed though, i’m aiming for learning but the only issue i’ve run into a few times is:

But running /compact seems to fix it. I’d love a few more beelink’s to run a cluster though.

Edit: Also I’m also messing with openclaw and openclaw can’t seem to spawn agents to do tasks. Not sure if thats hardware related or config issue. 🤷‍♂️

I don’t really have much to backup tbh, what I do have is backed up to another drive but unfortunately hosting that offsite because I don’t have friends, lol.

If you aren’t running it yourself, you’ll always be held hostage by toxic companies!

Time and time again, from account closures to account locking… if you value anything, you should really look at self hosting it. Yes it’s a learning curve, but now is actually a good time because you have claude to help, but don’t expect that to last!

I am and will only ever use the free tier of claude but even that is actually pretty useful. Just don’t reuse the same chat, create new ones, delete ones no longer needed and you rarely hit the usage limits.

I’ve used claude to get my own AI server running on a low power beelink PC and while i’m still learning, it runs pretty well so Imcan now bounce between my own AI, to claude for the few issues I can’t solve.

What you could do to really piss your neighbour off is to help everyone else get bigger boats so that your neighbour gets so pissed off and sells the boat because they can’t afford a bigger boat.

Also I’ve had issues with drains in the past and when I asked them about the job, they actually enjoyed the challenge. So I think you’re confusing people who do a job because too much demand means people doing jobs for the money rather than less demand would actually mean people wouldn’t even need a set job. Feel like drains on Monday, go for it. Had enough and feel like helping someone tin food on Tuesday, go for it.

It amazes me how blinded people are to a capitalist free world. Do i care if this new spade I bought with all its shiny cardboard and plastic protection, arrived with a scratch? But even if the TV was scratched, does it really matter so long as it worked as intended?

But then I have no kids of my own and every year I feel better not having brought kids into this mess because unless you’re born into money now there is very little to offer kids in the near future right. 😕

You need heat, so fly to the nearest sun and install it on the hottest part. Just position carefully so you don’t cause the sun to spin slower and cause a cooldown effect as that’ll cause it to stop working!

I can’t comment on ZimaOS but I do use CasaOS to manage docker and it saves a lot of hassle for most things. Just being able to click the 3 dots and check for updates is worth it.

The only issue I have with CasaOS is that it doesn’t have support for env files. Maybe ZimaOS fixed that. Next week I should have a HP gen9 arriving to replace my dying gen8 and looking at trying proxmox on that so might have to test ZimaOS.

Still really want to get into kubernetes but trying to get a useful tutorial that works and isn’t a stupid video thats hard to follow is annoyny.

Ooh, Onedr0p’s cluster template looks great so tried it but getting stuck on RPI_EFI.fd

The notes say: create RPI_EFI.fd like here https://www.sidero.dev/v0.6/guides/rpi4-as-servers/#persisting-changes

But that requires setting up sidero which is discontinued and looks like it needs a working talos cluster to get it working anyway, so is there an easier way to generate RPI_EFI.fd ?

I’m also hitting other issues so going to have to wipe the pi I have for PXE anyway so maybe it’ll play nice after a reset. 🤔
