Huh, so the “cishet ADHD person that just happens to keep ending up in overwhelmingly-LGBTQ+ friend groups” thing isn’t just me? Interesting…

I mean, Christianity kinda does, too, but gay Christians definitely exist. Islam and its interpretations/practices aren’t monolithic.
That’s not to say that I think she actually exists - all evidence seems to point to Coty Craven being a con artist - but “gay muslim” isn’t necessarily a red flag.
Didn’t Obi-Wan order a drink at that bar that he and Anakin went through while chasing Zam Wessel in Episode 2?
Humble used to be an event that celebrated and showcased indie developers while at the same time raising many millions for charities. Then IGN bought it and rapidly enshittified it into a bog-standard, for-profit corporate enterprise like any other, and I’ll never forgive them for it.
Do they even give any of the profits to charity any more? If they do, I bet they only keep it around to take advantage of the tax writeoffs.
Is this implying that a publicly-traded corporation whose software is installed on millions of computers around the world has the same level of agency and responsibility as a preschooler?
I mean, yes, Microsoft bears responsibility for blindly accepting whatever deployment package CrowdStrike gave it and immediately yeeting it out to 100% of customers via Windows Update without any kind of validation or incremental rollout, and should probably be sued for it. That still doesn’t negate the complete and catastrophic failures at every step of the development process on the part of CrowdStrike. It takes a lot of people to fuck up this bad.
Yeah, I guess “black tea” is a bit of a misnomer. It’s probably just simpler to share the terminology with coffee though
Coffee is just too bitter for me unless I overload it with way more cream and sugar than is healthy. At that point all the caffeine and sugar makes me way too jittery. On the other hand, I enjoy drinking tea black, so tea it is.
Almost entirely unrelated, but it’s interesting how enduring the “rebel scum” line has been, given that it was first said by some no-name imperial officer in the shield generator room on Endor, who was then promptly knocked into a pit when Han threw a box at him.
Edit: I looked up the original scene, and it seems I slightly misremembered the order of events, but the core of the point still stands
I don’t think online resources are necessarily a replacement for in-person classroom instruction, and even if they were, it’s not a reason to take the option of home ec classes away from those who want it.
That said, I think it’s at least a good thing that so many good internet resources on cooking exist, and it helps mitigate the problem to some degree. Still, it takes time and energy to seek out those resources, learn from them, and put them into practice. Not easy to do for anyone who has been worked far past the point of burnout and are still just scraping by.
'90s-'00s McDonald’s primarily appealed to kids, as the colorful characters and Happy Meals were a big part of the draw.
'10s-'20s McDonalds has pivoted to marketing towards adults, in part because they had come under fire for marketing greasy, oversalted calorie bombs to children as the US obesity epidemic took off. The other reason is that mid-to-low income adults became a much more lucrative demographic after decades of wage stagnation basically created an entire generation that’s too tired and overworked to cook for themselves but too poor to go out to eat anywhere else.
Upon zooming in, that doesn’t appear to be Darth Maul. The saber is also single-bladed and blue. I don’t know who exactly it is, though…
I also have a Yahoo address. Yahoo is such a pain in the ass at this point, but what am I going to do, go back and change the email address on every single online account I’ve made since I was 11?
They meant they only found out the YMCA organization was real recently, they thought it was just a song at first.
We don’t currently foresee any changes to our funding model, as Homecoming is not required to pay any up-front or recurring license fees. We continue to be overwhelmed by the generosity of the community when it comes to keeping the server online.
It doesn’t seem like Homecoming is having to pay anything for the license, at least. It’s not like NCSoft is able to make any money from CoH anymore, so they may just be taking an opportunity to build some community goodwill for little opportunity cost. If they demanded any revenue for the license, it’d cause community backlash, and a donation-funded fan server of a long-dead MMO almost certainly wouldn’t be able to afford any meaningful licensing costs, anyway.
I just found this community the other day, and it honestly reminds me of https://screenshotsofdespair.tumblr.com , a blog I’ve followed and enjoyed for years now. It’s not quite the same in intent, but the vibes definitely match. Glad I’ve found this!
Man, the “only a Sith deals in absolutes” line was really one of those things that sounded a lot better on paper than it actually turned out to be.
Even beyond the obvious self-contradiction, “dealing in absolutes” is such a weird attribute to describe as unique to the Sith… Like, the identifying mark of a Sith isn’t their hunger for power and control, nor their mastery of the Dark Side, it’s that they aren’t moral relativists? Really?
Other than Wedge and one random Y-wing, everyone in the other squadrons were dead.
One of my childhood best friends transitioned and another came out as bi. I think a lot of it is just that people with ADHD and/or on the spectrum tend to get along really well with other ADHD/spectrum people. Since those traits heavily overlap with also being LGBTQ+, those who don’t fall into that overlap end up making friends in their youth with a lot of people who eventually come out later once they figure themselves out.
