  • you’re not paying for you electricity in the US? Here in Germany you pay an expected amount for heating and electricity and then at the end of the year the landlord has to send you a statement telling you how much was used exactly and either pay you back the difference or you have to pay additionally and that usually results in changes in what the expected amount is in the future

    Investing money in someone to start a business because you believed that business would be worth it in the end happened way earlier though.

    That’s just more abstract as the final value you can receiv isn’t capped anymore - but just having a loan-based economic model is already pretty capitalistic tbh.

    But I see how what was basically the creation of stocks can also be seen as a starting point

    Not to mention how long it takes to find good spots since noone wants to have one in their backyard and even if you have a spot it takes almost a decade to build m

    Also you need to guarantee cooling which is going to be a bigger and bigger problem in the coming years…

    So much better than spending a fraction of the money to build renewables much faster with less risk…
