Glimpse is already taken by an abandoned fork that simply changed the name.

ΟΥ in Greek makes sounds like oo as in look, wood etc. It does not lead with a γ sound that would make Uranus sound naughty.
Of course it should also end in -os as -us is a Latin ending.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is 'Philippines' spelled with a PH, but 'Filipino' is spelled with an F?English
4·22 days agoGreek name meaning he who likes horses, the name of Alexander the great’s father, then a Spanish King’s who colonized the islands.
Therefore actually spelled with a Φ and the issue being different transliterations of it.
You keep access to non-verified apps no matter what Google wants since it uses microG.
It’s openness vs security.

safety_checker is indeed an ai image content check that ships with ComfyUI. There are two instances of it under the ComfyUI directory. Nowhere else on my $HOME
fsdpy_utils is also part of ComfyUI, it’s a module to help run models (not a model itself those are huge). ComfyUI is a webUI to run AI stuff, so it’s expected to be found there. It’s not found anywhere else on my $HOME
cachetools/func.py is a module providing cache not a tty. It exist in other Python software that I 've installed. No random instances of it all over $HOME either
You are probably asking an AI chatbot to produce drivel with technical terms you 've seen online to troll this community. It’s probably convincing to people who are unfamiliar with python, ai or linux but it does not pass inspections by anyone familiar with these things.

14·1 month agoWhether AI can reliably detect issues and generate working code is a whole different thing from CEO’s delusions and hyperbole to game the market. Their financial success is also irrelevant, in fact it’s better if the sub/token model fails and we are left with locally ran models.

Technology@lemmy.world•Everyone Cheering The Social Media Addiction Verdicts Against Meta Should Understand What They’re Actually Cheering ForEnglish
14·1 month agoOne of the key pieces of evidence the New Mexico attorney general used against Meta was the company’s 2023 decision to add end-to-end encryption to Facebook Messenger. The argument went like this: predators used Messenger to groom minors and exchange child sexual abuse material. By encrypting those messages, Meta made it harder for law enforcement to access evidence of those crimes. Therefore, the encryption was a design choice that enabled harm.
The state is now seeking court-mandated changes including “protecting minors from encrypted communications that shield bad actors.”
I don’t see any of the people celebrating this decision discussing this? Perhaps it’s a misrepresentation by the author since I can’t find the actual decision text.
This is going to harm small non-corporate websites, not just social media, far more than Facebook or Tiktok. Harmful content is also going to include stuff like LGBTQ, especially anything trans related, and ‘antisemitism’ (but probably not antisemitism.)

Well for most of the named countries using all homicides versus gun homicides makes little difference.
australia 0.8 belgium 1.08 canada 1.8 france 1.3 portugal 0.72 spain 0.69 usa 5.76
What you should look up is homicides/non-homicide crimes against gun ownership. You will find that the US does not in general have more crime except for homicides.
You also are not going to find a country with anywhere near the gun ownership that the US has, so I suppose your are safe there.
