That’s clearly referring to Prospero’s ending monologue from The Tempest.
Now my charms are all o’erthrown, And what strength I have ’s mine own, Which is most faint. Now ’tis true I must be here confined by you, Or sent to Naples. Let me not, Since I have my dukedom got And pardoned the deceiver, dwell In this bare island by your spell, But release me from my bands With the help of your good hands. Gentle breath of yours my sails Must fill, or else my project fails, Which was to please.
It’s not so obvious to me how the Fontaine storyline relates to The Tempest, though.
The samsara quest was excellent, and everything after that went steeply downhill. For example, they made a pretty interesting backstory for the desert (Red King, etc.) but then delivered it in the laziest, low-production-values way possible. The delivery for Scaramouche’s backstory was similarly butchered; it was so cryptic that I honestly don’t know how many casual players ended up understanding where this guy came from or what his connection to Raiden was about. Which was baffling considering he was the final boss…
Soooo… Fontaine impressions? I won’t have the chance to check it out until much later today.
WoW is up to 88 GB install size. Gaming companies stopped caring about disk space a long time ago.
Really hope the 4.0 quests are good. Hoyo has recently been going through a spell of bad writing, in both Genshin and Star Rail, to the point where it’s detracting from gameplay.
The English translation is here.
Teyvat’s hotpants.
HYV should just ditch Formosa Group. Aside from the not paying VAs thing, their voice direction is terrible and is responsible for most of the gripes about the voice work in the game (e.g., Paimon’s screechy EN voice which is completely unlike the CN version).
Funny you should mention that, I use Arch!
My leading hypotheses:
It’s wild how CBU3 dumped FF14 design straight into FF16 and decided it was good enough. MMO gameplay makes a lot of design compromises to accommodate for the multiplayer shared-state world, network latency, etc. None of which make sense for a single player offline experience.
