My needs changed. When I was a child I had an intense need to master new skills and show them off. Video games could meet that need in a way school never could. As an adult I can completely fill those needs with work so I have no interest in those sorts of games. Now I play games to be entertained and delighted. If I want challenge I’ll put that energy towards earning a bigger bonus for Q4.
Some really unlucky people peak at 14 but for the vast majority the peak will hit in their early thirties. For those who prioritize sleep, play, and socializing that peak is a plateau until about 50.
I agree with your post for the most part but “I think” are wasted words. Every statement is a something someone thinks unless they cite a source. Only include “I think” if you’re doubting your opinions.
It’s real? I thought this was some Gen ai art but https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/creep_van
That’s like saying you can’t learn to swim because the water is always too cold. Yes it’s cold, you just go in the water anyway. It’s okay to feel bored. Just be bored and continue.
Yes! I use those all the time. It needs to be standard.
I don’t know about that but I think we need two clipboards, standard. If we had the existing clipboard and a second with dedicated keys that would be very helpful.
Always. If you aren’t communicating with the intent to exchange meaning you’re communicating in bad faith.
Probably mostly to warn others. Sometimes to point out information I believe is wrong. Mostly I’m trying to keep the ship on course.
What is? Are you claiming the open source code base has a timer grabbing binaries from a Google server and executing them?
I’m all of these fish. If I’m going to spend my life playing a game I want to immerse myself as much as possible.
I’m a fella. What am I supposed to relate to? SpongeBob’s outline or Squidward’s crossed arms? Or…?
Turns out you don’t have to be running out of humans to value human life.
TIL: most cat households are lawful evil.
Proving Netflix could be replaced by five hard working people.
Also William Gibson wrote about foiling facial recognition with makeup over thirty years ago.
CGNAT sucks any time you want a reliable link to anyone else behind a NAT. Multiplayer games, p2p sharing, video calls all are less reliable.
We planned for that. We should be fine at least until we are an interstellar species. We could assign an IPV6 address to EVERY ATOM ON THE SURFACE OF THE EARTH, and still have enough addresses left to do another 100+ earths. It isn’t remotely likely that we’ll run out of IPV6 addresses at any time in the future.
Debian on my servers. Fedora on my laptop. Gentoo in my kitchen (yep that exact espresso machine). I’m all over the place.
