Most app devs fuck it up (especially the lazy bastards that just throw everything in /opt and call it a day). I like being the dev who won’t let my code ship until everything fits nicely into FHS 3.0.
There’s dozens of us.
Hell, R was being used in colleges in 2000. Unfortunately, whether it was SPSS for the soft sciences or forcing stats work in Matlab for the engineers, professors always seemed bad at promoting the right tool for the job.

1·11 months agoTo be fair, GPS apps have some limitations that can cause this at times. I’d love it if an early voice alert could tell me if an exit is on the left or right side of the highway or how the exit split is organized way in advance of it happening.



They might be referring to the Warner Brothers disc rot issue announced earlier this year (affecting some mid 2000s dvds). Ideally, things are made well and last a long time when stored properly.
