I’ve had the Eros E3.5s for a few years and they’ve not let me down on quality, especially at the price point.

I also considered those Mackie’s.

I was a Radioman in the Navy, and some coworkers and I had gone to see Cider House Rules in the theater.

There’s a scene where they come to inform someone that a plane with a loved one on board had been shot down.

To quote the movie:

When the plane was hit, the crew chief and the radioman jumped close together. The copilot jumped third.

We immediately started laughing when we heard that, because we were told that the Radiomen are some of the last to leave a sinking ship due to needing to destroy the cryptographic material. Hearing that a Radioman was one of the first to bail was too good to us…

A few years ago, Morningstar used to have a vegetarian rib patty. Once I realized its potential as a vegetarian McRib, I bought a pack. It was delicious. I bought another pack.

And then it was gone from shelves in every store that had it.

I’ll second your mayflash adapter. I have a few of those, including the GC one, and it works great!

PowerA made a wireless GC controller for Switch. I got one and paired it with my Steamdeck. Works fine.

Also, for the Metroid Prime’s, if you’re not too hung up on playing it the original way, look into Primehack. It’s a modded Dolphin emulator with specific FPS controls for Metroid Prime. There are packages for Linux available. I think the one that worked best for me was the flatpak version.

I installed EndeavousOS on Feb 18, 2023, and it has given me the best gaming experience with the fewest of issues. Previously, I’ve tried Manjaro, PopOS and Tumbleweed and was met with issues early on that made running the latest AMD hardware troublesome in each, but I experienced none of that with EndeavourOS.

Fitbit acquired Pebble, not Garmin, so any of that tech is now with Google.

Garmin devices can be cheap, reliable, and work for a long time. There’s a bit of a community for them online, but I am not aware of any custom firmware.

I use Tidal. I have no issues with the app or anything it recommends to me. In fact, it does a really great job at mentioning new music from bands that I haven’t heard from in a while. Econoline Crush and Filter are 2 that had a recent release that even Apple Music didn’t tell me about, even though I have both bands music in my library with Apple.

I’ve tried to like Spotify, but I just couldn’t get into it. There was just a feeling that it’s not a music first app, but a user data collection app that happens to provide music. I don’t get that feeling with Tidal.

If I had to complain about Tidal for something, it would be the Live feature. I have the toggle off for showing live sessions, but I’d love to just turn it completely off and remove all traces of that feature. No one cares what I’m listening to, and I have no intention of being “social” in my music app.

I enjoy seeing these. I still have the HBO Max “Integration Test Email #1” from 6/17/2021. It’s one of the oldest emails in my inbox, and its presence there motivates me to clear my inbox just to have a giggle.
