Calm down nerds, it’s a library book and won’t even be his problem soon.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is that one software that you are using for 10 years and still loving it?English
1·12 days agoIf you tried 10 years ago it’s like a completely different app now. Comparable to Blender was clunky to use until suddenly it’s everyone’s favorite. I think QGIS is moving in that direction.

To pay them less? That’s so fucked up.
Just make a rust fork of ffmpeg, it can be ffmpreg.
I hadn’t opened acrobat in like a year, I usually let my browser handle pdf viewing but about a week or two ago acrobat somehow became the default pdf viewer on my work computer. I was greeted with a half page banner about AI, then when that is dismissed there is a persistent menu at the bottom for AI covering part of the reading pane. And there is a brightly colored glowing AI button in the top right that clashes with my dark theme. I feel bad for professionals that are adobe hostages, seems like all their products just get worse. Really wish large organizations didn’t feel like it is required to use their trash products.

11·21 days agoThat looks like the absolute worst place to put the sticks. I get that they’re trying to mimic the vita but that has to be so uncomfortable. Idk, maybe it’s fine.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How do you feel about the current state of Lemmy?English
4·29 days agoI think this place starts to feel dead when atrocities are committed, then we get zillions of the same posts, rightfully so because these things should not be ignored, but then it seems like nothing else is really happening here.
I agree with you on the shitty sources. The ones that spread misinfo will spam a wall of text with links to ‘sources’ and trying to call them out becomes an overwhelming chore. Then the extremely toxic ‘did you read the article??!?’ when the source is just some shitty opinion blog. It’s exhausting, which is why they do it.

82·1 month agoWow so allegedly Krafton wanted to avoid paying a $250 million bonus by firing the CEOs and delaying the release. Quite scummy.
Just watching people do normal tasks is depressing, like watch people at self checkout, it’s painful. Surely not every person is experiencing self checkout for the first time but it hurts to watch. Same with watching other people use a computer (they get a pass on this one, not everyone has spent hours optimizing their workflow…fine. It’s fine.) Seriously, just watch people do stuff, it’s rough out there. These people can vote or run for office and I wouldn’t take those rights away, it’s just scary and it explains a lot.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•CachyOS Is Now the Most Popular Desktop Distro on ProtonDBEnglish
5·1 month agoThis one is just a media box and also for light gaming, some games could be a bit smoother with just a bit more performance and switching to cachyOS binaries gave it that small bump it needed in most cases. If you don’t count benchmarks that are measureable and repeatable then I can offer an annecdote that it just feels better.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•CachyOS Is Now the Most Popular Desktop Distro on ProtonDBEnglish
19·1 month agoI’m trying a conversion from endeavorOS with CachyOS repositories, it was pretty seamless, I can keep my settings and endeavorOS theming, and allegedly you can switch back at any time. The cachyOS wiki has a short script for converting vanilla arch or endeavorOS to use cachyOS binaries. Been running for about a week and haven’t noticed any problems.
Gotta run pacman -Syu one more time real quick then I’ll uninstall the windows
If a device consuming power is pulling amps, then consider a device generating power is pushing amps.
If you can dig up the producer of the track or album you like rather than the writer you may have a better chance of finding more of that sound you are digging. For example Sevendust has a lot of bangers, it turns out they produced their own albums so to hear more good stuff I just look for more Sevendust. Try it, listen to the Black out the sun album in order, each track complemens the next. Amazing album, you’re welcome.
Jokes aside, the producer thing is legit.

Peg+cat opening theme. I don’t think I’ve seen or heard that show in years but that song will just pop in there.
