A middle-aged nerd from the UK. I like films and write about them, sometimes for Film Stories or my blog.
Have a great day.

It feels like marketing departments are treating us like idiots. They show the best bits so we can run along and see how they connect with the rest of the film we haven’t seen, probably the talkie bits as they’ve already shown all the action.
…then I’d turn down the offer to buy one. 😆 Although, I’ve seen one of the real batpods.
Yeah. The opening minute had me hooked. Once they started showing that he was going on a mission, I turned off. Stop giving me an abridged version of the film!
I agree. Back in the day, they made great teasers with footage that was especially shot for that purpose. I wrote a blog post about that kind of thing back in 2015.
These days I find myself turning off any kind of trailer after the first minute as they seem hell bent on laying out the entire film for you.
The Jinx film almost happened. There was a script, a director in Stephen Frears but apparently MGM got cold feet spending $80m on the film.
Berry said,
“It was very disappointing. It was ahead of its time. Nobody was ready to sink that kind of money into a Black female action star. They just weren’t sure of its value. That’s where we were then.”
It’s when articles say it’s “only” got 77% in reviews and act like that’s a terrible thing. Surely 50% would be a truly average film.
I’m surprised he managed to get hold of so many video game licences. All the films were awful.
I’ve done a quick search and it turns out that was for an entirely different film they announced several years ago. That hasn’t started filming or anything yet.
I bought Brian O’Halloran’s (Dante from Clerks trilogy) film called Vulgar as one of the extras on the DVD is the documentary “Judge Not … In the Defense of Dogma”. That was really interesting and it’s easily found on YouTube.
There’s also this bit of footage about Dogma which I think is quite funny as well! 😁
I have discovered today that someone bootlegged the trailer as shown back at a D23 event in August but Disney have been busy taking down any copy I can find.
21 people like the idea. 😁
There was a director a while back, Uwe Boll, who managed to get the rights to several video games and made bad films out of all of them.
One of them was Far Cry, being that old, it’s based on the first game.
I got the idea because I logged back into my matrix account after months and months of doing nothing with it! LOL
For a planet on the edge of the galaxy where nothing happened…a LOT has happened there!
I generally don’t like musicals except for Enchanted, which I attribute to Disney kind of making fun of itself. However I’ve never seen a proper stage musical and as BTTF is one of my favourite films ever, I went to see the musical earlier this year.
I can’t deny I was really entertained all the way through but I had no idea there was going to be about five minutes of “normalcy” before another song kicks in. I think there’s around 14 songs in total.
Part of the magic is what is achieved on stage for sequences like the DeLorean driving around trying to get up to speeds of 88mph. I feel some of that would be lost in a transition to film because, in a way, that already exists.
Wow. That’s a lot of new films probably heading to PVOD really quite fast.
Jesus Christ, both!! 😆 But only finger tight. Sod you bastards who get the screwdrivers out! That’s overkill. 😁
As a Soundgarden / Audioslave fan, it’s always going to be Chris Cornell with “You know my name” from Casino Royale. It really took me by surprise when I saw the film for the first time. Wasn’t expecting a rock track opening.
No worries.
