You created this server?
This has been going on for 16 years? I thought it was started in the mid or late 2010s.
How do you find the giant cow?
So why doesn’t a random follower posting a link on Mastodon cause server load issues, but a popular follower does?
Looks like it might be cool to have.
What’s up with the pronoun thing? Why is gender suddenly replaced with saying they/them?
I’m pretty sure that trademarks were invented so companies could prevent confusion like this by using the legal system. That way no-one can try profiting off a similar branding, and no-one can harm their reputation by making poor products apparently in another company’s name. W3C has a trademark registration for their name. https://www.w3.org/trademarks/
They better name a dinosaur after Skuntank!
I started using Linux / GNU/Linux based operating systems for more than a day or so at a time when I got Puppy Linux on my USB drive back in 2016 or so. Ever since then I put Fatdog64 and other Linux based operating systems such as Ubuntu and Linux Mint on my laptop.
Why are they getting patents for stuff like that? I thought patents were for mechanical inventions only, not new money schemes to stop others from doing the same so you’re known for that scheme?
So that means I can add moderator permissions to users on other instances?
I’ve created the communities on Lemmy.world already, can I add moderation permissions to another account on another instance or am I required to moderate Lemmy.world communities/forums on Lemmy.world?
What about the instances I created on Lemmy.world? Will I be able to moderate them from other instances?
What kind of behavior happened during July 1?
I feel like when the Reddit API controversy happened I was more inclined to switch due to the blackout vs Twitter which didn’t have nearly as instant of an event that would happen to get me off. Now all of a sudden because of Reddit I’m on various Fediverse projects such as Funkwhale, Mastodon, Kbin, and Lemmy.
It’s Internet Explorer - Google edition.
The API changes were the trigger for the recent controversy and the fact that they may be forced to use the buggy official app instead of an unofficial but stable and well developed app pushed people too far. The API change is what caused the blackout and disgust for Reddit.
You don’t “Google” something… that’s not a real word in that context. Do you “Ask” someone when searching?
Maybe they’re trying to become the new Internet Explorer?
