It’s only eye revealing if you literally aren’t paying attention. Vader straight up chokes and breaks the neck of an officer, killing him, that he’s interrogating on the rebel blockade runner in the first 10 minutes. Stormtroopers destroy and burn uncle owens farm and leaves his and his wife’s corpses out in the open after burning them down to the skeletons. Han shooting first, Alderran is genocided by the death star, princess Leia is tortured, albeit it off screen, we get the scene of the interrogation droid with all his “toys” floating towards her before the door closes. All the pilots die including lukes best friend biggs fighting the death star except wedge luke and a few y wings, It’s never been a “kids” story till arguably the prequels when Lucas secured rights to toys and went on to push story elements that could be made into toys to sell.
Not op either but 52 hours in: my verdict is basically Typical Bethesda Game. For better or worse with all the quirks and jank you’d expect from Bethesda. Bugs are hit and miss for all platforms, I’ve played only on PC and had 0 crashes anecdotally. Have had some flashing textures, minor physics bugs like with corpses infinitely jittering around if I walk on them. Had my worst bug this AM when I was talking to my companion she wouldn’t stop walking forward and eventually was just walking into a wall the entire time while we were talking. Difficulty is basically non-existent below hard unless you do something really stupid like sit in lines of fire or take a shotgun blast to the face.
I’ve wasted a lot of time pimping my space ship out because despite having some annoying limitations, it’s a lot of fun to basically build a spaceship Lego style. Spent a lot of time building outposts to mine resources for upgrades and doing side quests for Freestar Rangers(like a sort of Wild West Themed Police Force) and the UC Vanguard(like your stereotypical starship troopers government outfit where service=citizenship) because MQL can take a while to pick up. Overall the stories are entertaining if a little stream lined.
Graphics are hit and miss for a variety of reasons, I have been both honestly awe’d by some of the wildlife, mechs/robots, and landscapes while also thinking, especially with close ups on faces, how last gen so many of the NPCs look and the jarring perspective of seeing both in the same scenes.
Combat is just…barebones. Like Skyrim with guns. You have jetpacks sure, variety of melee and ranged weaponry, but if you’ve played any infantry space shooter before you’ve played the combat in Starfield. It can be fun to come up with strats depending on the scenario like assaulting an outlaw cave versus a space out post or using the landscape to your advantage but ultimately it’s just a sort of modern same old same old. You can at least customize your weaponry/armor except for melee weapons(at least so far). Space combat is also decently fun but every ship feels and fights like a space fighter. It makes no sense especially since it kind of defies the sci fi convention, that capital ships don’t fight like tiny space craft.
Just the base game would be a 7.5-8/10 for me, random Lemmy user. It is on a base level a pretty good game but there is some real rough edges game design wise that some people may have difficulty looking past, like space combat not being anywhere as open as they claimed and lots of loading screens.
I had my first personal annoyance with this when I had to grav jump(like warp from star trek or light speed from star wars) from system to system manually to “explore” the path ways to the system I had a quest at. I went through 6 silly loading screens just to unlock the path and nothing of any super interest happened RNG event wise.

Nah they also cut back season 3 probably because they’re running out of course material. First 2 seasons were 25 episodes and the third was 12. Shame because I’d like to see another season but for all intents and purposes it’s looking to go the way of many animes before it where they ended on a cliff hanger and then never finish the series.
Nope but it’s a case by case basis. The burden of proof is on the prosecution but the absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence, depending on the accusation laid. If I punch you but you don’t report it till the bruise is gone for what ever reason and you have no witnesses or evidence to prove it, did a crime still occurr?
Not at all, I personally have no pony in this race. But if the issue never went to trial he literally wasn’t found innocent. No trial = No guilt or innocence legally speaking. Getting charges dismissed doesn’t automatically equate legally either to guilt or innocence under the circumstances that he got for dismissal. The only qualifier is “there wasn’t enough evidence produced to make this worth the courts time.” Now if that means to you he’s automatically been proven “innocent” I don’t know what to tell you. To me it doesn’t mean he’s innocent, just the other party couldn’t reliably prove their accusations. I do notice you are silent about the grooming thing though.
It’s also interesting to see people making the comparisons to Depp and Heard trial when they did actually prove Depp was abusive towards Heard but Heard wasn’t a saint either. Anyone who actually paid attention to the trial without any bias can in no logical mind think either of them were innocent angels.

But there are 2 different accusation cases:
1st: accused of domestic abuse, false imprisonment, menacing, and something else by ex girlfriend. The charges were dropped but not because he was declared innocent but because “We dismissed the charges today as a result of having insufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.” Which is legalese for them saying "there isn’t enough evidence to say he did or didn’t do it besides hearsay so we have to dismiss the charges. So again he wasn’t “found innocent”, they just never went to trial.
2nd: he’s been accused of grooming multiple under age Rick and Morty fans. A plethora of fans have come forward with incriminating pictures of messages from their convos on various messenger services. This one hasn’t had much traction since like January but it happened at the same as his domestic abuse case was going public.

A few days late and not OP but they aren’t referring to that, but the scene further along where Luke cuts Vader’s hand off as he is down on the ground beaten and the emperor to push him fully to the dark side says something like “finish him” in his sinister tone. And then luke has a revelation where he was about to kill his father and the roles were reversed from bespin. Luke then chooses to not kill his father and threw his lightsaber down. Then gets electrocuted by force lightning and causes anakin to redeem himself saving luke and “killing” the emperor.
