I musta missed the rape joke. I just took this as an acknowledgment and maybe slight celebration that a sex offender is going to jail.
Edit: I forgot I’m on my beehaw account and see a much smaller portion of the comments

There are models for detecting adult material, idk how well they’d work on CSAM though. Additionally, there exists a hash identification system for known images, idk if it’s available to the public, but I know apple has it.
Idk, but we gotta figure out something
We need more decentralization, a federated image/gif host with CSAM protections
CPM on tech, finance, and health (a lot of what I watch) is often $5-10. And apparently google pays creators even more than that rate for premium viewers.
Even so, direct payment is likely to be more profitable to creators than just watching ads or having premium.
But even as a technical person, I’ve never really been interested in finding ways to block ads on my PC, MacBook, iPhone, Android (when I had one), and Roku/AppleTV. And potentially having to keep up with the apparently changing landscape of YouTube adblocker a for each. Sounds like a pain in the ass. I’d rather just pay for family premium, and easily share the benefits with my mom, sister, & wife without having to offer technical support for their ad blocking.
Ok, thanks for the tip.
Idk, I watch a lot, a variety too. I thumbs content, mark not interested. And my recommendations are an absurd over representation of the last 3 or so topics I’ve recently viewed mixed with a small selection of my subscriptions it’s decided I want to watch.
Anything more than like 2.5mg seems to put me in a dysfunctional state where my short term memory is just… idk how to describe it other than completely and utterly fucked.
Idk if it’s just my genes, or ADHD or both, but my wife can tank edibles even as the petite little thing she is.
I stopped taking my meds at one point, won’t make that mistake again. At least not without some other major life changes, but probably not even then.
The difference would really just be where to click, and whether you have to have the bookmarks bar enabled. I usually have mine set to only show on the new-tab page.
You could put this in a button and inject it into the google page with a user script extension right?
That might get closer to what OP wants
One of the reasons for not disclosing content recommendation algorithms is to combat spam or generally exploitation of the algo.
You’d be exclusively recommended content from whoever is trying the hardest to game the algorithms, and not however the algo was actually intended to work.
“Excavator” just doesn’t seem as funny to me.
How? It’s a picture of a massager and a dump truck.
Of the 2 compatible explanations, I really like the many worlds theory over hidden variables. Many worlds explains this unexplainable randomness, the probabilistic nature of subatomic particle movements, by saying all possible movements happen…. The probabilities just indicate the likelihood that our reality is the one that movement X happens in.
I like Sabine Hossenfelders way of explaining things, she disregards god altogether. It’s not necessary for these explanations.
I saw some other scientists basically throwing a hissy fit about determinism, and how they wouldn’t get credit for being so smart and making the discoveries and stuff if determinism was true. Like obviously I’m so smart, I’m making hypotheses so I’ve got free will.
It was utterly embarrassing, I was looking for a legit counter view to see what the other side said. And the first two videos I found were PhDs throwing tantrums on podcasts.
But to those that believe in a god generally, sure, with our current knowledge anything is a possibility… just some theories have more standing than others… but some also are nicer to believe in, and just make sense for a being to want to believe.

And then you throw the block universe in, and it’s just all the more beautiful.
All possible combinations of atomic interactions all happen. Well “happen” is so linear time thinking, they all just exist.
Wife says this is a fun fact.
Well, if true, it doesn’t make any difference. Because it always was and always will be. Nothing makes any difference.
But in another way, it’s kinda neat. I guess it’s simultaneously a not fun fact, and a fun fact.
Yep, beehaw is defederated from a couple of big instances, and so we don’t get any content from those servers, including comments.
For reference, I’ve got 10 comments under this post.
