Libraries lend out all sorts of stuff! This is definitely on the more-odd side of offerings, but sounds like a good idea to me 🤷♂️ lower the burden of being a good person

Technology@lemmy.world•As Microsoft Forces Users to Ditch Windows 10, It Announces That It’s Also Turning Windows 11 into an AI-Controlled MonstrosityEnglish
24·29 days agoEvery headline about this Windows AI is dumb FUD because turning it all off is trivial
-
Is it actually trivial, though? Does that trivial change turn off all of the various instances of AI scattered throughout the OS?
-
Do you actually believe they won’t release new things under different flags, and that you won’t have to play AI whack-a-mole every update?
-
lol, came here to say it… just put a scratching post next to it? I know they don’t look good, but it’s a hell of a lot better than this…
2000s was very emo-/scene-heavy. Lots of bracelets and mixing of black and neon.
2010s are the best argument for you, probably. It was more of a blend of things 🤷♂️ hipsters and preppy looks got pretty big, but nowhere near as homogenous
2020s will be COVID themed with broccoli hair

This is a fucking braindead take. A few months, a year, maaaybe? But a decade? No chance in hell.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Not to get all religiony but why in the old testament God was all fire and brimstone and fatal consequences? But the new testament God is all about forgiveness and such??
75·2 months agoThe simple answer is that the gospel wasn’t working as well as it had been, so they had to change it up to continue attracting people. Cults are basically popularity contests, and you can’t win if you’re scaring everyone away.
Ooooo, good to hear! I played something like 15 hours when EA first released before deciding to put it away until full release. It was definitely good then, so I’m excited to see what it has turned into now.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Would you buy a Smart Glass in the foreseeable future?
14·2 months agoI’m mildly interested in the technology, but I sure as hell wouldn’t go anywhere near Meta-branded anything. For starters, based on the demo, the product fucking sucks, but then there’s also the privacy and fascism issues.

Honestly that is way, way more reasonable than I was expecting. This isn’t half as bad of an idea as I thought it would be
