Yes, censorship is definitely an issue on even the Fediverse. A certain demographic wants the Fediverse to be an echo chamber. Fortunately, there are some instances that don’t operate that way.
If people want the Fediverse to replace social media, they’re gonna have to accept that there will people they don’t agree with.
The major advantage with federation is that you aren’t locked to one instance. If an instance censors you, you can find a different one and migrate your profile over there.
Still, the fact that people wig out if you express an opinion they don’t agree with is definitely an issue, considering how many Fediverse instances bow to the “free speech for me, not for thee” mentality.
Oh no, I don’t mean Edgerunners was my entry. I mean that Cyberpunk 2077 led me to further cyberpunk content, which led me to explore cyberpunk anime after a lifetime of being an ignorant anime hater. I can see why it looked like I meant Edgerunners was my entry though!
That said, I don’t hate Edgerunners by any means, I just didn’t feel the emotional connection people felt to the characters and story. I enjoyed seeing Night City in anime, and I think there was a lot of talent on display but yeah, I just didn’t feel much compared to what others seem to have felt.
Not a fan of Studio Trigger and I thought the first season was a tad bit overrated but I did enjoy it for how it adapted the very franchise that opened me up to trying anime in the first place, so I’m interested.
First, Apple with Liquid Glass. Now this. We are so back.
But PROTON is the honeypot, right???
UAD or Canta. Two really good options for phones you can’t run a custom ROM on.
Best option I know of is MeWe but it’s not a 1:1. Does have some pretty solid group features though.
We still have a long way to go but we’ve already come so far!
Not a weird argument, that’s the same logic you used. Just because some kids might not agree with your decisions as a parent, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t make that decision. Caring what others think about your parenting style is exactly why we have so many messed up kids in the first place.
Right? How dare a parent actually care about their child’s upbringing? It’s 2025, we’re supposed to give our kids an iPad at 3 years old and let Cocomelon raise them.
“Ha your parents don’t even let you do underage drinking, drugs and other shady activities?”
Same argument. You don’t relinquish your authority and protection as a parent because a few losers want to make fun of your kid for being raised with a mom and dad who actually give a crap about their upbringing.
I’ve come to find that people with their hearts in the right place (such as yourself) are often attacked or ostracized on the Fediverse, especially Lemmy.
How DARE a person express traditional values??? How DARE a parent not want to be an iPad parent and let their kids do whatever they want???
It’s mind blowing and it drives me further and further away from Lemmy on the regular. Keep up the good parenting and if I could offer my advice? Find a better place to ask for things like this, because all you’ll get are moronic replies like half the replies here.
Just use Kotatsu (if you’re on Android). Best way to read manga online by far. https://github.com/KotatsuApp/Kotatsu
Yeah, I just feel like for my use case, I didn’t need all of those extra features that LibreWolf has. If people want privacy, it and Mullvad are great Firefox options, but Waterfox is more than solid for people who use it as an alternative for big tech type stuff.
I switched to Brave Search when I switched to Brave, very pleased with it so far. Its image search isn’t quite as good but otherwise, I haven’t looked back.
Can’t answer for them but for me, sites would break, the cookie management was a pain in the backside, and I hated having it start in windowed literally every time I’d start the browser. It also doesn’t handle containers as well as the original FF addon did.
If you’re on Android, you really need to use Kotatsu. If one source is taken down, you have a couple hundred other options and it doesn’t change the overall experience.
The ACLU is a freaking joke, not sure why you’d trust them. They’re literally making up excuses to try to prevent this from passing. Makes you wonder about their reasoning.
Proton’s free tier doesn’t support P2P traffic anymore.
