to name a few I like:

• Read You, brilliant RSS reader. Now syncs with Freshrss. Inspired by Reeder on iOS
• Voice, audiobook player. I use it in fact to listen to audio from youtube videos (downloaded with Newpipe). For audiobooks (and podcasts) I use
• Audiobookshelf (needs server)
• FUTO keyboard with decent on device voice recognition! (exists as a standalone)
• 8Vim, weird keyboard I really like
• Fairemail has been my trusty email client for years. Don’t be spooked by its many options, once accounts configured the UI doesnt show unecessary stuff IMO. Some unique and useful features.
  But if you want something simpler there’s K9, now Thunderbird. Although I still experience the issue with emails not arriving on time with this newer version
• KeepassDX, great password manager, good UI, keeps improving.

You can resell, trade, give, lend a book you bought. You’re just not allowed to do the same with any copies you’ve made. At least where I live

Just to be clear: my main point was that you don’t own any more the game bought on GOG than on Steam.

And there are definitely upsides to this type of market.
Although nowadays I wouldn’t buy a just released triple A 70€ game knowing I can’t sell or give it (not that I play those much anymore). The games I actually want to keep a few and far between.
I buy second hand Switch games for my nephews. It’s cheap, I’m actually giving them something, and they can trade them with their friends or sell them to buy fortnite skins the little shits

Again, not hating on GOG, I’ve been a customer for a long time. Mainly because I don’t want any kind of launcher. I play 99% solo games, don’t need no updates or multiple clicks to launch a game.

The menus are definitely busy and confusing (there are many options), but once it’s set up I’ve never been bothered by the UI. I quite like how emails are shown OOTB in fact, with the right padding and day separation; I also use most buttons that are offered by default. So yeah, sane defaults.

Off the top of my head what I like:

• you can search emails on the server! That’s the one feature I couldn’t forgo
• it detects unsubscribe links
• I remember having delays when using K9, with FairEmail not once. This could be fixed now
• it cleverly shows you’re connected to a VPN (which can be a problem with emails)
• maybe too many options, but a lot are actually useful

Not trying to say it’s better, to each their own. But it’s great.

edit: I received an email at 06:19 in fairemail. it’s now 06:56 and I just received it in thunderbird
