1337x.to is generally fine to use, just be sure to check the notes on the Megathread and use your common sense.
Context
- When signing up on the 1337x platform, it’s crucial to bear in mind that it’s accessible to all users.
- The act of downloading movies and TV shows is often regarded as safe. This is primarily because these files do not come in .exe format, thus reducing the likelihood of virus infection.
Risk
- It’s highly advisable to be careful when downloading games and software from the site unless you have total confidence in the uploader’s trustworthiness. Avoid uploaders like IGGGames due to their notorious track record of distributing malware.
- Opt for reputable uploaders like DODI Repacks, FitGirl Repacks, and KaOsKrew to ensure reliable content and mitigate any potential risks associated with unverified sources.
That’s great, thanks for making this, and for going to the trouble of making an account here just to update the wiki. Awesome stuff :)
Plus, add it to the wiki or I can do it for you 👍
This dude is getting legitimately downvoted for JAQing off. Also, his home instance is explicitly anti-corporate and anarchist, so defending right wing billionaires is against our rules. You are correct that Lemmy is generally left of centre, depending on the instance, so JAQing in defense of billionaire assholes is never gonna go down well.
I don’t know what to tell ya, I don’t find the word that rhymes with “hanky” offensive at all, especially when it’s applied to someone who seems to fit the bill. I think the main difference between MLs and liberals is that liberals are well aware their governments are flawed and are willing and able to criticize them and protest against bad policies, whereas the MLs are dedicated to the idea that it’s wrong to criticize non-Western governments, because “left unity”, “critical support” etc. This, despite the fact (or maybe because of it) that most of the governments they defend are totalitarian states where government criticism lands you in jail, in a re-education camp, or falling out of a window. This quote sums it up nicely:
Authoritarians, having argued so doggedly for the domination of a paternalistic state and having therefore turned themselves into ideological infants, then develop a hyper-reductive view of geopolitics; precisely the one, in fact, that a state would like for them to have. “Socialism” becomes pathologically confused with “opposing capitalist nations” or more appropriately, “opposing all states aligned with the United States.” They attempt to simplify the struggles of the entire planet down into two camps, the “bad guy imperialist states” and the “good guy anti-imperialist states.” In doing so, worker emancipation is simplified into a single question: “do you support the imperialists or the anti-imperialists?” Woe be to those who do not submit to their reductive understanding. The statists who advocate this position are completely incapable of even understanding what an “anti-imperialist” entity might look like. They, in fact, simply support one imperialist bloc over the other in a battle of two power-hoarders.
Lol yes, they actuallyproudly call themselves that! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Pirate_Party
One option worth checking out is Jackett. You can configure it to search multiple sources at once, and sort by the number of seeders to check for torrent health. You can integrate Jackett search into QBittorrent and/or the *ARR stack for a more seamless experience.
Omg poor publishers not able to make a 2000% markup on their textbooks as per usual - think about the CEOs’ bonuses guys!

In publishers’ ongoing fight to shutdown pirate sites, Cengage, Elsevier, Macmillan Learning, and McGraw Hill filed a lawsuit on June 5 accusing Google of promoting pirated copies of their textbooks. In the suit, the publishers are seeking unspecified monetary damages as well as a court order to prevent Google from engaging in further copyright infringement.
Their mod actions usually do federate out, but their outgoing federation is a bit borked right now with some instances, perhaps due to the recent upgrade to Lemmy 0.19.4-rc.6. I believe they are at least aware of it now, though they have been basically non-responsive to the issue so far.
Can confirm, it’s only the piracy communities that are blocked, and we are still otherwise federated with lw. It’s not really a big problem as far as we are concerned, they can pick and choose whatever communities suit their instance. We will have lost some clicks and visibility from them, but at the end of the day, it’s not going to affect our share price lol.
So long as you are getting m0nkrus’ software from the links here then you should be ok. There is no 100% guarantee of safety though with any pirated software. All I can say is that many people here have been using m0nkrus’ releases literally for years without ever experiencing any viruses or malware.
Bear in mind that it is fairly common practice for software vendors to post claims of viruses in cracked versions of their software, to scare people off from downloading them.
There is a detailed thread about it here. Looking at the “detections” in virustotal, it looks like a false positive to me though.
Also note that m0nkrus is still listed as trusted in the megathread, so there hasn’t been any compelling evidence so far to make them untrustworthy. GenP exists as an alternative and they have a wiki about their method here but note that they also still recommend m0nkrus as an alternative method with the following disclaimer, which suggests always installing the individual app versions instead of the so called “Master Collection”:
There has been some hacking related complaints towards the Collection version specifically (accounts like google, instagram or facebook), but it’s never clear since usually people download from other random sources, got it from youtube, use bunch of other crap, and so on.
At the same time, there are those who use / used individual version or even the collection, and have never had any of those related issues at all.
The amount of data leaks have been increasing, so certain accounts could’ve already been leaked a while back but just nothing happened until then.
There’s a mix of opinions, those who trust and those who don’t, since there’s never a clear conclusive proof or replication of the same problem it’s a gray area.
❗ The links in the reddit and suggestions are to the source, and not other random file hosts.
⚠️ If going with Monkrus, please USE ONLY THE INDIVIDUAL VERSIONS (these should be alright) and NEVER the Collection version (has been dropped due to several correlations with malware, and malfunctions). - This has been said several times, but the majority skips on the reading, so it’s your problem going forward.
Edit: I realise OP was asking about AutoDesk and not Adobe apps but the same general advice applies.
Lol. And yes, Windows 10 IoT LTSC version has support until 2032.
You can still pirate Windows 11 matey. And don’t forget Win 10 LTSC edition still has support until 2027.
Nice false dichotomy.
So true. Record labels seem to just want the ability to sell overpriced, shitty DRM locked licenses without any competition from piracy, because it shows just how exploitative their practices really are.
He’s got a temp ban and I’ve banned a suspected alt account upvoting him from our instance. It’ll be a permanent ban if he comes back for more.
Interesting factoid from that article is that a crackdown in Japan has seen a two-thirds decrease in piracy over from 2021 to 2023, which is very substantial. They then go on to say that piracy globally went up 6.7% in 2023 compared to 2022, so I guess Japan is an anomaly.
Aye exactly mate, down with the mega corps!
