  • I remember playing with a similar feature on my Galaxy S3 back in the day. Eye scrolling. The phone would scroll for you when it sensed you looking at the bottom of the screen. That was the S3. It was not perfect but very usable. My hands always felt faster so I never kept it on but it was a fun thing to play with. I’m sure the only thing stopping them is the fear of backlash. We’ll get there in time I’m sure :/

  • Over the years I have heard stories where Valve closes an account after the owners passing. This is usually because the poster said they had trouble with something and explained that the original owner passed. Valve then responds by closing the account and ignoring the issue.

With that said I don’t think large groups of people can effectively share a library/account because only one person can play at a time. Small groups like spouses, parents, siblings or a small friend group is doable because it is easier to coordinate who is gonna use the account at any given time. This is especially true if they live together.

With the Deck, I have issues where I boot up a game on my living room PC and my Deck closes it’s game making me lose progress on the Deck. Imagine that multiplied 20x. Getting kicked mid match, losing that boss fight, lose your high score, getting left on cliffhanger mid cutscene. The throw your controller rage stuff.

  • I don’t think OP is asking for merch of that Lemmy. The platform Lemmy has a mascot, just like Reddit. They are not the same thing. I understand people not knowing who Mr Kilmster but doesn’t everyone here know who the mascot is? With that said I wouldn’t mind some stickers or something.

Maybe instance owners/maintainers can fire up an Etsy shop or something similar to sell stickers and 3D prints relating to whatever instance they run. I’d be okay with something like that. As long as they don’t go full “creator warehouse” where the instance becomes secondary to making sales.

I remember there was a water treatment plant or something similar that got hacked. The hackers started messing with the levels of the chemical mixtures to poison an entire city. The only reason it didn’t end in catastrophe is because there was somebody watching that specific screen at the exact moment it happened. Seeing this made that scenario more terrifying.
