I don’t know about a million being life changing. Can’t even buy a house for a million over here… Especially in USD, lol.

They usually work 24/7. Their whole life is work unless they have generational wealth.
Here in the UK the legal minimum is 1 bar per 10m of elevation. But usually the tap will have between 2 and 4 bars of pressure. Older buildings might only have 1 bar ofc. And by older I mean stuff that was built centuries ago and proper modern water supply is impossible to install.
Well, you’re asking about other countries and literally no one knows what PSI is :)
Wealth is not money. You can build wealth much faster on $100k a year.
Additionally it’s more like the rich will force the poor to eat each other. The convicted felon is running for a president for a reason after all.
Ok, something milder, without any racism or other shit like that, just a happy kids’ song about nuclear war. Here’s rough Google translation of lyrics into English. Great song to sing along in the kindergarden! I mean every kid wishes to be nuked and can’t wait for the moment!
Again - content.
Telegram is using only 66 megs here. Again - it’s about content.
Not OP, but I have much darker jokes for you. But I’m afraid this whole Lemmy instance will be closed down by authorities if I post any of them.
First of all, 350MB is a drop in a bucket. But what’s more important is performance, because it affects things like power consumption, carbon emissions, etc. I’d rather see Slack “eating” one gig of RAM and running smoothly on a single E core below boost clocks with pretty much zero CPU use. That’s the whole point of having fast memory - so you can cache and pre-render as much as possible and leave it rest statically in memory.
Is Electron that bad? Really? I have Slack open right now with two servers and it takes around 350MB of RAM. Not that bad, considering that every other colleague thinks that posting dumb shit GIFs into work chats is cool. That’s definitely nowhere close to Firefox, Chrome and WebStorm eating multiple gigs each.
High quality content is the reason. Sit in a terminal and your memory usage will be low.
I would also like to add some of the higher level features available in most assembly languages.
Modern assembly languages have even more higher level features, like macros support. And some are even hardware agnostic, like intermediate representation assembly language used in LLVM.
Guess what, assembly is also a high level language, lol.
1st level is direct binary code as was done with punch cards. Assembly language is a 2nd level language. C is a level above, thus it’s level 3.
Death Stranding. Great game with an awesome story, but the longer you play the more repetitive it becomes. It should be a TV series, not a game.
No Mans Sky. It’s an infinite game.
You’re just a Neanderthal conservative.
Unexpected Resident Alien reference…
Well, lucky you. But when houses cost over £2m, £1m down payment won’t make me able to afford shit.
