Really surprised the current government regime actually cares about this, because it’s about scamming the populace.

Link Lemmy stuff there, to advertise federated platforms. I do it and haven’t been penalized like reddit does.
Books and media that are similar to “Subtle art of not giving a Fuck” is harmful to society, and supports apathetic beliefs. They are conservative views because they support separation of society instead coming together, and working out differences. The result can be seen in how people voted or not voted in elections. Every time I see a comment like “I’m tired” or “who cares” on social media in response to news, is screaming apathy, like they don’t even want to think about being good. Genocide happens all the time because there is lack of care for the those people. Homeless people do not get the help they need because people would rather treat them like trash. Trash, actual rubbish, is an afterthought for most people, not caring how their trash is being handled. America has a huge trash problem, where many throw theirs on the ground. Glass is highly more recyclable than plastic, yet I see more and more plastic every where, thanks oil industry. The recycling refund system in america hasn’t increased, for inflation, since its implementation decades ago. The list is endless. Apathy is every where, I see it all the time determining peoples actions and voices. First step to combat it is to be mindful of an issue and think of how it could be important to someone else, which can be hard to do, to put yourself in the shoes of someone else.
I didn’t know how I got back to ml lol I’m out
Not the other commenter but the meme infers USSR was better, and infers people knew what was to happen afterwards. Russia was making progress a little bit before Putin. I constantly think about what if I wasn’t adopted. I’ll probably be dead, forced to fight on the wrong side of war in Ukrainian. Then again idk what the USSR would be if it never fallen, completely blocking foreigners from adopting their orphans.
I don’t want to dox anyone or myself. Is this a google issue or did I link it wrong?
Assuming only red states have low population and grows faster is weird, but might be plausible. I could look into historical birth rates of each state, or population changes, comparing them to each other to see if the trends make sense. I assumed (or didn’t think of) there wouldn’t be bias growth rates based on state affiliation (red or blue). My first thought was gerrymandering and could it cause this bias. Either way, I didn’t think about population growth having an inherent bias in this.
I was referencing that website, it kinda lines up around the time the parties switched. The party switch could be another result or part of the cause of that inflection point. I realized there could be connection when I was trying to figure out when the parties switched, but I don’t know enough about that history.
I forgot to add: In determining if the state was red or blue at a change point, I looked at the 4 prior election results, and 2 aft election results, 6 total to determine how red, blue, or tied purple it was for that time. It’s the only fudge factor that could be modified because it’s just a guess, but I think the trend will remain even if you modify this (Ex: 3 prior, 1 aft, 2 prior, 1 Aft, etc.)
If you are voting the opposite of the norm in your area, you are making a bigger impact than the reverse of the situation. Go by county and try to flip yours to blue. If it happens to flip, your vote counts 100%, otherwise you have at least tried and voted. Here is some links to check 2020 results by town or county.

Like any kingdom, really depends on the king that rules. Trump will form the Nazi party and start stripping away more balances of power, but Biden will hopefully start restoring the democracy.
Best to block the tankie instances and then tag or block the wild ones in the comment sections as you see them, because commenters can’t blocked wholesale.
It’s because apple is generally opposite of this type of place. Lemmy is more FOSS (free and open software), and android is more open than apple. Apple’s closed garden isn’t appealing to most tinkers, developers, and power users. Apple is more main stream and don’t want to bother with setup, settings or tinkering.
Personally, I hated Apple before even their first cell phone was around, because their software lockouts were infuriating to me, creating a disposable iPod paper weight after only 2 years back then. I never looked back.
I wouldn’t call them leftist, as their views are too pro authoritarian. They more branched off in a different direction that sometimes looks more right than left.
From the picture, I count 16 lanes. Is the pic accurate?
From the lack of reaction to how big this change is, too many are not concerned IMO.
Critical mistake thinking paywall is pay to win. There is a difference, one is locked, the other can open their wallets but don’t have to, but can. Any type of advantage that can be bought with money IS pay to win. The key word is advantage and can be applied to any view point, like ‘skipping’ and ‘easier’. A person that pays will always be ahead of a person that doesn’t, hence paying to win.
I mean, if you are trying to argue against this means you probably wouldn’t mind buying premium bullets in a video game, like a CEO, John Riccitiello, suggested. Premium bullets would be very convenient and make killing players easier! You wouldn’t need to grind levels as long with those boosts!
Rule of thumb is to ask: would paying allow me to finish the game faster? Yes means pay to win.
Warframe is the most p2w game I have ever played, and I don’t understand how people can say otherwise. Imagine you could buy the best pve gear in a mmo like WoW instead of grinding out raids. Warframe is this and then some. Resources? You can buy that. Skip crafting times? Yes. Buy boosters to shorten leveling and item acquisition? Definitely multiple versions. And the game still creates problems and sells the solution, the classic monetization of inventory space.
The game is very good, has an amazing story, and the movement system is the best, but it’s extreme p2w if you want it to be. At its core, It is a very grindy looter shooter which is severely monetized.
Some thing needs to keep the court in check and remove the bad apples.
Gmail is an email provider, and so is protonmail. They are two companies providing email services. And you can communicate between the two email services by sending emails. Both email providers have their own rules and regulations you have to follow because they are run by different people in different places/countries.
Lemmy is similar. Each Lemmy instance provider is run by different people in different places/countries. When you make a comment or post on one instance, it automatically sends your message/post to the other Lemmy providers/instances (if they don’t block the federation). You have to follow the rules of the provider/instance you join, just like for email providers.
Choosing a Lemmy provider/instance based on location or theme is the most common. Also, it’s recommended to not choose the most popular instance, because that would defeat the purpose of federation if everyone is in one place, like reddit (one company, one location, one rule set for the entire platform).
