They will not say “what does ring mean?” They’ll look you in the eye and shout “I don’t understand your dated cultural references old man!!”

I’m on the form. Been on there for a bit. Mostly I like pointing out that an app is being actively developed for kbin, and that I have never used it so I cannot tell you more.
I think lemmy people should know that @hariette has previously stated that Artemis will work there too. At least, I’m pretty sure they said that. Children have turned my brain to mush and my memory is about as reliable as a 3 year old.
@ArtemisApp is in beta right now. @hariette has been hard at work. I look forward to trying it soon. Hopefully. I’m not on discord, and that’s where most people are getting beta.
You think you would get to live in the same place with no one knowing you won the $1B lottery? Interesting.
Me, I would go to a top law firm and see a senior partner about getting out of being publicized. Have them set up sale of property and disconnect my phone lines and internet accounts after creating new unknown ones. I would have the lawyers present the ticket for me through various layers of holding companies and trusts, but I would be a ghost for awhile. The legal team would make sure all family members got some money with a nice non disclosure agreement. Immediate family would have my contact information with a request to never disclose. All money Would be dispersed between several low fee brokerages where I would invest in a combination of treasury backed securities, short term CDs, total stock market ETFs, and cash would be dispersed between several high interest savings accounts. I would be unreachable for 6 months while News died down.
Well, all nazis consider themselves Christian
Kbin was just a year old when everyone went there. It went from a few hundred to a couple thousand and then to 50k users in a couple weeks. It was literally one person, @ernest, until a few weeks ago. Lemmy has had a few years of people working on it, an active subreddit for a few years. The Lemmy creators were active on several subs for years. It’s not a surprise that kbin just now has more than one person working on developing.
Kbin federates with Lemmy and mastodon. Lemmy has more users so more people voting up things there, but a lot of that front page is posted from kbin. Devs are not focusing on lemmy unless they’re Lemmy people. There are devs focusing on kbin too. We now have an active kbin enhancement suite going, just like RES used to be for reddit. So customizing how you interact with fedi is more in your control. Artemis app is being done by @hariette, and beta users are super happy with it.
{taps forehead} Not if we blacken out the sun
Look up kbin enhancement suit KES. They have android, iOS and Mac that I know of. Simple to add and they’re implementing a lot of features

You can subscribe to any content your instance federates with.
Instances are like Reddit, Twitter, instagram, etc. Each instance has certain rules that may vary from the parent they forked from (see beehaw vs Lemmy.ml). Those instances will then have a structure like subreddits, posts, comments, etc.
Lemmy is similar to Reddit. Communities (c/*) are subreddits
Mastodon is similar to twitter. Microblogs are tweets.
Kbin combines Lemmy and Mastodon.
Chrome and Firefox are building iOS browsers that do not require the apple WebKit. Everyone, including apple, expect apple to drop that requirement soon to help avoid antitrust issues.
Good to be around a developer who interacts with the community, isn’t it. That is the real inspiration from Apollo. That is why I’m super hopeful for this app.
Damn shame, because that’s some good popcorn material.
Did they take a bag of popcorn to thanksgiving? Because, I’m getting ‘they took a bag of popcorn to their mom’s thanksgiving diner’ vibes here.
Any follow up?

Threads still hasn’t implemented ActivityPub
I’m on kbin.social and when I go to /d/threads.net it is very active. I would not be able to go there if they haven’t implemented activitypub and federated.
And so much sugar
