    I remember when Brave started injecting ads for their paid VPN in their browser. Right in the toolbar, masquerading as a new feature. Brave fans insisted you could remove it by right clicking it, and that it totally wasn’t a big deal.

    And now, today, people are finding out that the optional paid VPN service is installed on the system level by default, without even bothering to tell you.

    And now there are Brave fans saying “if you don’t want the extra VPN service, just go into your system settings and disable it” which is technically true, but would also be technically true for actual malware.
