Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•You're given $20,000 USD (or the equivalent in your local currency) to spend, but anything still left by the end of the day you lose for good. What are you spending it on? English
13·1 day agoOut of curiosity, how low would that dollar amount have to be for you to opt to spend it on something else? Would it still go to debt if it was only 1,000 or something?

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How Do You Feel About Professional Sports in 2025?English
16·6 days agoSame way I’ve always felt about professional sports. Do what you want, have fun, but you’re taking a game way too seriously.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's a video game that you just don't get the hype about?English
392·7 days agoBreath of the wild. I loved Zelda games up until then, and everything after is so fucking boring. I don’t get it.
How did you take this footage of me at work

2·7 days agoHow about mtg gameplay, video game speedruns, beat battles, and vtubers? That’s pretty much all I use YouTube for these days, but I’d love to drop it completely.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Something that happened to you but no one believes you?English
1·10 days agoOh sure, I don’t mind sharing.
I got bottom surgery around fiveish years ago, I was thirty. I started my transition mid twenties though, so I was pretty well established by that point.
Detransition stories are really sad, but fortunately it’s pretty rare that someone transitioned when they shouldn’t. Something like 9% of people detransition at some point, but many of those are due to societal pressures, and a lot of those people actually retransition later. The actual rate of regret over transition is something like 0.4%, and the overwhelming majority of trans people find it makes their life better.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Something that happened to you but no one believes you?English
2·11 days agoOh no, I’ve had surgery. I don’t have a penis or testicles any more.
And thank you, but don’t worry. I’m pretty secure in my identity at this point. I’m much happier in my skin than I ever was before. I just meant like, I’m running on estrogen now, I have a body I can feel comfortable in, and so I don’t know that it really matters in a practical sense what chromosomes I have or whether I’m “technically male” or something.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Something that happened to you but no one believes you?English
3·11 days agoI just don’t really care tbh. I know my chromosomes haven’t changed, I’m fully sterile, and at this point the nature of my biology only really effects my doctors. I’m under no delusion that I can one day give birth or anything, if that’s what you’re driving at?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Something that happened to you but no one believes you?English
12·12 days agoYeah, pretty much. I know different trans people think about themselves pre-transition differently, but that’s how I see it for myself

7·13 days agoMay 1st, the day outdoor fuckin’ starts. I think the celebration is obvious, and it think it would help build empathy and compassion for our cumpatriots, bettering society.

Unfortunately, the requirements for the program are ridiculously severe. It’s super hard to get allowed, especially when you’re under 50 or only have mental health issues. We really just need UBI so people aren’t required to struggle to work to get by.
