There’s some people that can’t come up with positive references, even when cherrypicked. I’d probably fall into that group.

Someone point this man to a soap opera instance, stat!
No, because I don’t live in a binary world where I have to pick one over the other.
The power of opensource.
Out of curiosity, how many years back are you remembering? I can imagine it happened to me when I was 20 but its not really a thing for me at 50.
This is why people can’t take desktop linux seriously.
Apple only so Fuck’em.
I chose not to wait. Greasemonkey script for blocking on desktop, Connect app for blocking on phone.
My issue(I think) is a combination of games utilizing anticheat(I’ve not gotten a single one to work yet) and also trying to play non-new games that were not designed during the Steam push for compatibility. I can’t use linux to play the games I like to play so I use a Win host for gaming and to run my linux install in a VM on the second screen.
Few games? Man, you and I are definitely having a different experience.
I don’t think the issue is performance though. The unspoken part of this comparison is in bold:
“Linux vs Windows tested in 10 games. In the games we could find that work on linux, the performance was 17% faster on average. In all the rest of the games, Windows worked 100% better.”
On the plus side, I meet less people like you when using their service, so it’s worth it to me.
I always use Google anonymously as I always find alternative search engines to be lacking. Even without personalized search results, Google always works better for me.
Any politics and porn servers or communities get blocked.
I won’t sit through a non-organic product placement. If I’m watching a guy weld up a body panel and he tells me how great a welder is, it doesn’t bother me. If I’m watching and he starts telling me about his VPN or a phone game, that shit’s getting skipped.
Echo chambers are echo chambers, no matter the platform. As the voices grow, it gets louder. Just because it’s an alternative to the mainstream, I wouldn’t consider the members here smarter, more enlightened or savvier as a whole. Lemmy just got louder, that’s all.
I’m enraged.
Neither impacts me in any appreciable manner so I don’t think much about it.
Never trust a rant from a person that can’t install Windows.
