And then opens 6000 job positions for AI salesmen. What a mismanaged hellhole.

Will the 4800 Xbox employees that Microsoft just laid off be rehired into these positions?

This is like those people who bought Meta glasses and then acted surprised when they got screwed. Did you really not expect something like this from Musk?

Pandora might already have similar infrastructure in place, if it’s still used. It’s just not exposed to the public. Once upon a time, actual human beings used to import CDs into the service and tag the songs with different descriptors. This was to help the recommendation engine build playlists around similar music. You could see some of these tags when you chose “why this song” during playback.
One thing I wish the recommendation engines took into account was the record producer. Usually when you find a song/artist you like — you’ll find similar music by looking at other albums the same producer was involved in.

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (episode 1)
I remember being so hyped for this trailer. Then the movie came out and it was awful/dull/wooden/juvenille/poorly written.

I’d argue the sound should be standardized across all models. It needs to be immediately recognizable to nearby pedestrians.
Brilliant film. Swanson is amazing and deserves all her accolades. Holden has never been as beautiful as he is in this film. Casting Erich von Stroheim as Max was perfect.

Have they done a Broadway musical of this yet? The Disney cycle of wringing out every last dollar from IP isn’t complete without a Broadway musical.

Kind of my point. Neighborhoods that aren’t zoned for hotels shouldn’t have hotels in them. Companies are buying up residential homes and basically turning them into hotels without following any of the existing zoning laws.

If the owner doesn’t live on site, it’s not a BNB. It’s a hotel. And it should be taxed, zoned, and regulated as such.

We’ve been eating processed foods since the 1950s. Remember Swanson TV dinners? It does make me wonder what has changed. Are the ingredients different? The preservatives?

Because they waste the income they have on crap like adding AI, and CEO bonuses/raises.
You can reset the tv and set it up without internet. It still works as a “dumb” tv.

I think the bigger threat to cinema is conglomeration. Allowing all the studios to merge, and then buy up the streaming channels, and internet companies is a recipe for killing creativity and free speech.

81% For a big budget movie doesn’t sound that great. I suppose it could be worse.

True. It will be interesting to see if Apple:
I think Apple got caught in a hard place where they had to start over and get things up and running quickly to head off any lawsuits about not meeting advertised promises about “new Siri”. Their first try didn’t work in iOS 26. They were aiming for 15 to 18 months to get the API working/tested. Let’s see what happens in another year or two.
Also Apple won’t be the only one in this predicament. WhatsApp is already having the same problems with DMA.

I thought they had to be based on actual shipping vehicles from American car manufacturers. That’s what got me thinking about it. Eventually the EV cars will probably go faster than the combustion engine. The trick will be in getting a charge to last long enough that it doesn’t need more frequent pit stops.

Have midichlorians been retconned yet?

A mess of a film, but a really great cast and good music.
Last year Windows 11 was estimated at 400 million “devices”. Thats 16-17 million possible copilot users.
