For what it’s worth, my LG washer has sent 14.3 MB in the past MONTH, but my Unifi router has misidentified my Nvidia Shield TV as another LG washer. The Shield has downloaded 11.6 GB in the past month, mostly from YouTube. While I don’t doubt it’s possible for a washer to send/receive that much data if it’s compromised and part of a botnet, I’d also question whether the device in question is actually an LG laundry appliance.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What are some good, solid cables for charging and data transfer?
271·1 month agoLove him or hate him, Linus Tech Tips recently released a line of USB cables that are built to last and clearly labelled for power and data rate at both ends. They are on the thicker side, but still very flexible thanks to the silicone jacket you seem to like. Offered as C-to-C and A-to-C. Unfortunately, they sold out very quickly and are awaiting restock.
doesn’t harm organic tissue
Which is totally why Bayer has settled their lawsuit for several billions of dollars over claims that it causes lymphoma.
Edit: also, plants are organic tissue.

53·2 months agoNot to detract from graphene, but stock Android can let you manage what specific pictures each app has access to. I don’t trust Meta with full access to my gallery, so anytime I have to upload something to Whatsapp, I have to specifically grant permission for that photo to Whatsapp.
I think this can be explained by the mentality of completely naked means I’m not leaving the house, but naked with shoes means I intend to go somewhere.
Say what you want about Hitler, but at least he killed Hitler.
OP didn’t even make it up. It was a whole story arc within South Park this past season, so even if you could delete someone else’s comment, you’ll probably run into it again.
I don’t mean to hurt your worldview, but “Big Bird” is actually a human man in a costume.

12·3 months agoCan’t speak to the burgers as I only ever order chicken fries from BK, but I will argue that their French fries have a more forgiving edible temperature range than McD or Wendy’s. Still wouldn’t eat 'em room temperature.
Do you drink a lot of pops and leave the empty cans in the car?
No. Nothing stays in my car beyond the necessary paperwork, some basic tools, an umbrella, and a dry towel.
I’ve had granules of steering wheel foam rubber crumble off on my hands, same with the shift knob. This only happened when there was water in the trunk, and the heat and humidity made everything feel tacky. If I vacuumed the water out, these problems went away until the next heavy rain brought water into the trunk again. The headliners started falling down during this time as well, despite being relatively newly installed headliners.
How do you think vehicles in humid places last? Lol.
All of the things I described have happened to two cars I’ve had in the past that each had a trunk leak. Beyond directly problematic sources of moisture, I live where humidity is frequently over 90%. Humidity damage is real.
Deteriorate headliner backing, steering wheel, shift knob, fabric door panel adhesive, armrest, makes every surface tacky to the touch and leaves goobery gunk on all the touchable surfaces
