  • The fingerprint comes from your client.

So, if you use a browser, it will give away your operating system and quite some stuff more.
Pretty much every site you visit can do this, learn more about this here:
    https://coveryourtracks.eff.org/

Persistent cookies can track you over different sites, that check for this cookie.
It’s not like the cookie has a life of its own, but different sites can check for that cookie and then they can report back to a server, so this server knows which sites you’ve accessed.

If you’re using a client app, like the official Reddit app, on your smartphone, it will have some permissions requested and that will be the data it has access to.
If it is running always in the background and has access to your location data, it potentially track your real world location.
If it wants to be linked with your Google/Apple account, it (maybe? (probably depends on the range of access requested)) has access to your real name.

But else, it can “only” gather data, that will help to identify you again - but this you is only your username.
Although I’m not sure how Reddit currently handles registrations, and if they now demand some real name.

But for example with browser fingerprints, they can with some probability identify the device again, but can’t really say who you are - like with a real name.

But every service you visit in the internet, independent of by browser or app, will see your IP - your numerical internet address, with which your devices communicate with any other device in the internet.
So, if you access a homepage, the web server will reply to your device by using your IP address, because that’s where the request came from and else it wouldn’t be able to send you the data you requested - like the data (text, images, code) of the homepage you want to access

The relation between your real name and the IP is known by your internet service provider (ISP) and for example law enforcement can get access to your real name, when they have your IP, but a typical homepage can’t get to that data.

So they’ll know that you accessed their homepage twice (and maybe some partner Homepages, with which they share this data), but they can’t really say who you are in the real.

For quite some time private IPs were also dynamic. So with every dial-in you’d get a new IP.
By now this isn’t the case anymore with many providers and connection types.
I’m still paying for a (rather) stable IP though, so I can access my server reliably with the same address - but you can also set up a script that updates a domain (like a www/“Internet” address) and you don’t need the IP, just like you can access google.com without knowing the IP of that server

Ok, that has gotten a bit off of topic, but I hope, it brought you some more understanding how those things work

If I got your question completely wrong, sorry.
Maybe I can give you better information, when you clarify where I went wrong
If someone sees, that I’m providing wrong or outdated information, please correct me :-)

You can read more about the contents on the linked homepage, but it’s pretty much just caffeine and some other stuff, that should help (and they funnily enough claim everything from natural sources)

In my youth we just snorted caffeine pills, which work well enough

Cocaine isn’t really good for long term concentration.
Amphetamines would be better for that.

    But… Let’s stay on topic o:-)

It’s always just overpriced sugar water with caffeine and some stuff like taurin, vit b and so on

It’s never really good for one anyway, but yeah, drink whatever tastes ok for you and works good enough

I’ve gone though some store brands, but I’m always coming back to the classic RedBull.
Monster never really was my taste - but because of that, I also didn’t try that much different ones.

At the moment, I’m more happy with an occasional energy sniff and just a coke or water

RedBull is European/Austrian and the (more) original thing anyway

And if you’re fed up with energy drinks, Austrian innovation still got you covered ;-)

This is an energy sniff - and I’d actually love to see people going round taking sniffs/lines, just because it would disturb the picture of what is regarded normal ;-)

Still, use with caution, as obviously your nasal mucuos stuff won’t be happy about it after some time.
But it works quite well and I can work around my upset stomach - but as said, not a thing for every day

  • Yeah, the black chassis looks fucking awesome

I’m having a Framework 16 and during work in a warehouse I produced a major scratch on it.
Would love to either do a cover up “tattoo” (like laser engraving) or just switch to a black chassis, if it becomes available for the F16

Either way, those things fucking rock

My little brother has an old ThinkPad, which I regard as good.
But the keyboard starts to die and he bought a new keyboard to replace.
You need to disassemble the complete laptop, just to change the keyboard - and there are a fuckload of screws and flimsy connectors.
Because of that age, I also guess, that those flimsy plastic brackets, holding the flat rippon cables, while easily break - at least that happend to me, when I tried to repair an really old piece of hardware

The idea of Framework is absolutely great
The only thing, that worries me, is the massive use of magnets, because working in a dirty industrial environment, it sucks up all the little metal pieces - and that killed the speakers of my last laptops at least, and brought that shit into PCB environment
Still, at its so easy to disassemble, I can just pull out the modules, even while the laptop is running, clean them up and put them back.

    Fucking love this thing!

Ok, only wanted to say something about this nice black chassis and got carried off…

  • Can confirm
Don’t know what they build their watches with, but they seem to absolutely not care, when I smash them at concrete or steel
Which is good, because it’s my first watch again after like 20 years without one, and I needed quite some time to adapt - and still forget about it and demolish other stuff with it by accident
