To me the most baffling thing is that it’s not on the weekend in the USA AFAIK, like why the fuck would you have it on say a Tuesday when people need to work, pick up their kids from school etc, you might argue that still some people work on the weekends but that’s a much lesser percentage and makes voting easier for a lot of people and who does have to work, they can mail it in.

3. the crowd anonymity effect or whatever if it even has a name, if only one person in a crowd starts kicking over a trashcan and gets some cheers, it can and will quickly spread through the crowd who will start doing it and/or escalate what they do as they feel kinda safe, because they are not doing it alone. The same way when you do something you are kinda afraid to do doing it with a friend (if you had any) gives you more courage.

Well for me the same is with Spotify, I could just download stuff and put it on my plex server, but I just don’t feel like bothering with it, we have a shared plan, so it comes out to like 2,75 euros a month to have ad free music, with the very good discover weekly and other auto generated playlists that are mostly a hit for me, if I spend more than 6 minutes a month having to fuck around with my own music setup I am already losing money compared to just working those minutes
