This is propaganda… Plain and simple.
Tried to set them both up and kbin just wouldn’t work for me, lemmy I was able to spin up with zero issues and I’m still using it. Every now and the. I give kbin another shot and I just can’t get it to install and federate properly.
Why are so many of you hoping to recreate Reddit? No one tried to turn Facebook into MySpace, no one is trying to turn Substack into LiveJournal… Platforms fade, people move on, new platforms crop up. That’s the circle of life on the web.
They compare it to heatwaves from the 1970s…
If I see someone parked over the lines I assume they are gonna hit my car wh their door or while they are backing out, so I go somewhere else.
Most of us aren’t trying to turn this into Reddit and grow it to unsustainable levels. You are welcome to create your own instance and defederate from the ones you don’t like.
I don’t like people. Majority of people are exhausting and downright annoying to be around. Whether is commuting and being cut off by them, small talk in a doctors office, or family gatherings for holidays. They all just exhaust me and I can’t wait to get back to my cats. Honestly, my fiancé is the only person that doesn’t make me feel this way as of late.
“Do you need a pen?”
All of my personal servers are Debian. My last company switched their entire production fleet from centos to Debian. I think a lot of people switched to Debian back when the Centos Stream debacle went down.
Use a partition manager like parted or fdisk to delete all the partitions from the drives and create one new one that encompasses the whole disk.
If you are doing all this from a GUI you can use Gparted to make it easier for you.
I’ve started to block anyone who I see just spamming mediocre articles into multiple communities.
They are all miserable and incentivize embellishment for the sake of affirmations from people we don’t actually know that well. If we did have real relationships with these people we would probably be communicating offline and any accomplishments would be shared on a more personal level. Instead we just mass blast posts into the universe in an attempt to get fake internet points…
I think most of them are bots too.
because we don’t still text our exes…
Only if it’s gonna cost them money.
“I’m pretty pro-capitalism myself…” is one of the weirder things I’ve read on here. Socialist or not, that’s weird to me.
“Works on my machine…” Classic dev response, lol.
Log off and touch grass.
Not even trying to be a dick, but I’ll go water my gardens lol.
