5·4 days agoNot sure about the method: to me it shows people are more willing to give up when the computer appears to be broken.
I think the control group need to experience a similar computer service failure, but maybe just swap out the ai for a basic calculator tool, or a pdf with formulas or a cheat sheet or something 😅

87·8 days agoif you can’t find one I’d recommend getting a ps5 controller instead: it at least has one trackpad and a gyro, and works well with steam input.
I find the gyro is more useful than the track pad for mouse input, with an activation button set to capacitive touch on the track pad, or set to the aim button such as left trigger for shooting games.

5·19 days ago- Why is he starting with c/c++? Yes they have uses but not as a starter just playing around.
sometimes it’s not interesting enough to keep someone’s attention if it’s just “playing around”: some people need to feel like what they’re working on while learning has a real purpose, and some purposes have to use C++ (e.g. Arduino)
sure it might not be the most effective or efficient way to learn, but it can be more motivating.
i like the dog in the bottom left corner 🐶
as far as I can see: I think the joke is meant to be that red shirt says peasants aren’t nice, and then is immediately (3 comics later…) proven wrong.
it’s not the height of comedy, but it could be slightly improved by being 1 comic instead of 3…

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is there a way I can become Baptized a Catholic without going to school or memorizing all the saints I am 37? Always thought it would be an honor to be Catholic. Like being knighted.
6·21 days agowhy do you think it’s anything like being knighted?
I guess it has one similarity in that it’s a symbolic ritual, but I think that’s where the similarities end. Being knighted is a lot more impressive, and commands some respect, since it has a selection process that involves either being recommended by the public or a government committee…
There’s no minimum requirement to become Catholic… Have you heard of missionaries… People that travel far and wide to try to spread their faith because they want to baptise literally everyone in the world…
