I checked my Windows 11 work laptop a while ago, and that shit was enabled. Did not see that in any UI, but using command line. Said that shit was enabled and active, but apparently it was not yet doing anything. I will have to check again next time I am firing that machine up again, because I absolutely trust them to re-enable it without my consent, those bottom-feeding scum suckers.

I think this is a huge problem even with people that would say about themselves that they respect women, or even that they are feminist. A lot of men on the left suffer from a total absence of introspection. They may not want to treat women differently, but then they just repeat patterns they have learned without any reflection, and end up doing just that - talk over women, mansplaining to them and so on. It’s the same with any privileged group of people.

Was there on business, visiting a factory of a large vehicle manufacturer, down in the south east. My god these people were nice. There was a guy who made sure we had everything we needed to get our work done, who would literally jump and run if we needed anything. There were people bringing us mini choco croissants for meetings. They always invited us for lunch and paid for it. There was always coffee for us if we needed it. We had desks to work on, which is a rarity in a factory environment, but they made it possible.

The best part was when we were standing at the line with a special piece of equipment that we had brought, and a guy stopped and said “hey, that looks interesting, what’s it for?” - and then we chatted about that for five minutes, eventually realizing it was time for a meeting. For both of us. Five minutes later, it turns out the guy who casually talked to us tech people was actually the head of their corporate IT. You wouldn’t have been able to tell that he was some higher up because he was so down to earth and friendly and casual. They all were. It was a mighty pleasure working with them.

My breakfast is coffee. Don’t eat anything before lunch time, and a second meal in the evening - that’s it.

As a long time C/C++ developer, I think it has a lot of really great ideas. The one thing preventing me from using it a lot more is that there is no stable ABI that would allow to use shared libraries in Rust - everything is statically linked, and if I use the same crates in a number of programs, the same code exists in each of these programs. That is not really a good thing whne you try to develop for a system with very limited space and where program load times make a difference, such as for certain embedded platforms.

But honestly, Rust support in the Linux kernel? Java never got that far, nor any other language (apart from C, obviously).
