To add to people’s answer of it not having much care- cleaning is generally good for care/longevity as grit and dirt will cause abrasion if it has flex or when the tool goes in and out, anf it comes in and out of your pocket :)

I’m just using fedora with gnome at the moment. And I control it with antimicro x. Though the gnome extension I liked best for typing on screen with the mouse isn’t available on the latest version of gnome. A Bluetooth keyboard would be nice.

(Technically right now I more often just use it as a second display for my laptop with an HDMI cable running across the living room and don’t bother with the controller, using the trackpad and keyboard. But it was working nice also when I left my laptop plugged in sitting below the TV :)

I mean, it feels pretty intentional that the fish team keeps adding syntax compatibility commonly used in bash… 🤷🏻‍♂️

Which personally as a fish user focused on the user friendliness of fish as an interactive shell, I really appreciate- it being less likely users have to worry about syntax differences while keeping the better scripting language design is really nice.

I will say, if theres any way you can talk about this with someone IRL please consider doing so and trying to create a real life support system for yourself. Whether that’s friend, a therapist, family, someone nonjudgemental who you can discuss where you’re at could be really helpful, especially when you’re noticing an increase in risky behavior.

There is value in being able to talk things through, try to process where you find yourself and what needs the risky behavior might be filling, and why its something you do or dont want to continue. That kind of discussion and immediate support is hard to have via text posts over the internet

I… I think that might not be working on my install… I keep getting out of memory crashes that hang my laptop and I’m not really technical enough to solve it so I’ve just been living with it until I reinstall and try to set everything back up, or distro hop again

I wonder if I configured something wrong at install or broke it at some point tinkering…

I’m not sure their like bananapi based router would be considered professional. More home tinkerer

I am not the most knowledgeable on this subject but didnt they just do what amounts to slavery in their colonies like in India? They had colonial rule over India until like sometime in the 1900s didn’t they? Like they were an imperial nation, I’m not sure it really matters if the the exploitation and bloodshed happened within their own landmass, but perhaps I don’t know the history of england very well

I just checked and Ireland didn’t gain independence until 1949. I think the idea that the British empire and it’s monarchy is better than the democracy that extended its benefits only to white men is kind of a hard sell. Its the British empire 😅

As bad as things are in the current moment I’m not sure theres a strong case that living under a literal monarchy with zero Democratic representation and no meaningful civil liberties was better 😅

The handful of merits of the American establishment may be currently disintegrating under the wright of neo-fascism, but the establishment the founders built, explicitly flawed though it was/is, is definitely a better establishment than imperialist monarchical British rule
