Another Blizzard game is coming to Steam. I cannot wait until WoW is available so I do not need to use the battle.net client.
Oh, look. I’m alone in saying I didn’t buy it before, not buying it on Steam, either. Go suck it, Dibalo IV.
I’m with you! Blizzard has been nothing but disrespectful to the Diablo franchise, original devs and players. Not to mention, buying an online-only game is basically renting it. I’d rather just replay the masterpiece that is Diablo 2, which they will never match.
I’m so totally with you, buddy. Nice to find peeps on here who know about the Diablo.
Yeah it’s on my recommendations and all I can think is “why?”
I cannot wait until WoW is available so I do not need to use the battle.net client.
This is unlikely to be the case; Valve supports third-party launchers via Steam, so most likely this will not change the dependency on that
I’m a little upset that you have to re-purchase the game; personally I think they should offer a free steam activation once you tie your battle.net account to steam in some way
All you have to do to test this theory out is try a Grand Theft Auto game or just go for Halo. Classic bullshit signing up for shit, having to have a secondary launcher installed. blah blah blah, yadda fucking yadda. Take your friggin’ pick. Rockstar, Microsoft, and now Blizzard. Shit’s pretty much all bought up, doesn’t mean the companies don’t act like they always have with their brands.
Overwatch on Steam does not require b.net, so I do not see why it wouldn’t be the case with their other titles.
I do agree with having to repurchase. I don’t really play D4, so I might just wait for a big sale if I do go with a repurchase.
I regret paying once for this, you wanna do twice? :D
Probably not. I only got thru the first act, game just isn’t for me.
Overwatch on Steam does not require b.net
Not sure where you get that information from, but the Steam Overwatch store page clearly says this:
Internet connection and Battle.net® Account required to play. A mobile phone number must be linked to your Battle.net® Account to play Overwatch® 2.
Not sure where you get that information from
Probably from playing it themself. Nowhere in the text you linked is stated that you need the client. Only a valid account and internet.
So no, Overwatch 2 on Steam doesn’t require a secondary launcher. Source: me, I play it on Steam.
ok, looks like we are talking two different things here…
Whether it requires a launcher looks to be possibly not the case; however, it still uses battle.net and requires a battle.net account / login
Battle.net Account != Requiring the Battle.net client.
I’m not the biggest fan of Blizzard/Activision right now because of the shit-show with D4, but OW2 doesn’t require the Battle.net client which is very clear if you just install and run the game.
I have to buy it again? Lmao, no.
Every freaking little indie game can give you an extra Steam key but Blizzard can’t? The game was expensive enough already, what the fuck do we even pay for? To be just another cow to be further milked?
Nah. Diablo 3 kind of sucked. I’m pretty sure blizzard has more abuse internally than we’ve heard of. They don’t get my money.
(I say this, but it was free or like $2 I might crack. We’ll see.)
I feel like buy it for $2 would be better than taking it for free. Had a horrible waiter once, and we decided that tipping then $0.02 was more of a fuck you than not tipping them at all
