I know this is mostly PC related article but it talks of an offline mode! Maybe they learned from their mistakes!
Server issues at launch are to be expected, I still don’t understand who thought removing offline mode was a good idea.
The suits who want more money did. Can’t be harvesting all that play data or trying to get you to buy microtransactions if you’re offline!
Yeah we been trying on Xbox but it’s rough. Typically I don’t preorder games but this was the only game this year my IRL friends were even interested in so had to get.
When it does work it’s fun! Granted, simplified from PD2 but whatever. It’s 60fps so that’s great.
But the most important thing about a game is? To be able to play it! That’s why it deservingly sits at 1 ⭐ on Xbox currently.
I played payday 2 back when it was on the 360 and I think people have forgotten how sparse it was on launch. The payday 2 we have today is the product of 10 years of continual work.

Yeah I’ve got it on game pass, so did the tutorials and have tried to get a match 3 times now. failed every time, going to give up on it now. pleased I didn’t pay for it.
